With so little information ( not even what direction he was going) and the specific time of 8:49 (not 8:50-ish), I wonder if he was seen on a camera but he leaves the frame before it can be determined which direction he is going. Maybe his family did not realize he was leaving. 8:49 is late for a 10 year to be going out alone on a Sunday evening, IMO.
