The funding for Othram's DNA testing and genealogical research was generously provided through a grant from Season of Justice. Mary Kelly's killer sentenced to life in prison 35 years after her death

David Rojas was found guilty after forensic genetic genealogy linked him to Mary Kelly's 1989 murder and rape in Oak Cliff.

''David Rojas was sentenced to life without parole in prison Thursday after forensic genetic genealogy linked him to a murder from 35 years ago.
It's the first case tried in Dallas County using that capability.
Mary Hague Kelly's sister, Anita Stinchcombe, is grateful for forensic advances and people who never gave up.''

David Rojas, 55, was arrested in July 2022 and charged with capital murder and two counts of sexual indecency with a child. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole Nov. 7, 2024 for killing Mary Hague Kelly in 1989.
