A former New York City resident who killed two people and wounded 14 others at a packed Austin, Texas, bar was possibly motivated by the US attacks on Iran, sources told The Post. The FBI is investigating the shooting as a possible ideologically motivated act of terrorism, the sources said. The killer, who is a US citizen from Senegal, had a Quran in his car and clothing described as Islamic garb when he opened fire on Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden near the University of Texas-Austin campus, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

It will be interesting to hear if this guy was on any watch list or if there were red flags.
His social media will be interesting. And not at all surprising, I assume.

The Texas Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Texas) issued a statement Sunday afternoon condemning the shooting.
“We also reject any efforts to ascribe collective blame or punishment to entire communities or faiths based on the actions of individual criminals,” the statement said. “While a single person carried out this heinous attack last night, hundreds of thousands of Texas Muslims finished their night prayers and headed to their homes while calling on God for global peace and justice.”
CAIR also stressed unity between "elected officials, law enforcement, faith leaders, and community members" to support the victims and promote public safety. to come together to support the families of the victims and reaffirm our shared commitment to public safety.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more of these "micro" terrorist attacks.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A video shared with KXAN shows a Waymo car blocking emergency and first responder vehicles during the active scene of the deadly West Sixth Street shooting in Austin.

Viewer Matthew Turnage told KXAN, after leaving a club in the area and ordering an Uber ride home, Turnage noticed the ride was “stuck.” Turnage recorded video of the vehicle on West Sixth Street and Nueces Street at around 2 a.m.

“We left a club at 2 a.m. and were walking to get a ride home. We just so happened to get a Waymo car from Uber and when we found the car, it was trying to pick us up but got stuck in the middle of the street and blocked emergency vehicles for a couple of minutes,” Turnage said.

KXAN has reached out to Waymo for a statement and has not yet received an answer.

I saw that. Blocking the ambulance and even when LE was able to get in the vehicle it took way too long to gain command of operational driving. Technology can be frustrating at times I guess but if that ambulance was responding to or contained my loved one I would be livid. MOO

Harrington was mourned as 'a beloved son, brother, and friend' by the Beta Theta Pi chapter at Texas Tech, where he was a member of the Fall 2024 pledge class.

'Ryder had a rare ability to truly enjoy life to make people laugh, to make moments feel bigger, and to make ordinary days unforgettable,' it said.

'If anyone embodied what it meant to live fully and love deeply, it was Ryder.'

'His character and genuine spirit made our chapter stronger and our friendships deeper. The energy he carried, the joy he spread, and the way he made everyone feel welcome are things we will never forget.

'He made the world around him better simply by being in it.'
