Ok....after reading the time line above I have a new theory......

shooter is pyschiatrist which would make him a deep thinker......he has recently embraced Islam.....

being on an american military base where lets face it muslims would be looked at with suspicion he certainly would have all of a sudden stood out......

someone keys Allah into his car.......these guys are being sent to/ or have just been to Iraq...Islamic country.......he starts to see them as the enemy....

is about to be deployed to Iraq with now what he perceives to be the enemy.....must have been mental torture.....

I think the keying of the word allah into his car set him off and I think he has told 2 other Islamics from his mosque and set them off too.......

so in fact it was some form of a hate/terrorist crime but probably not planned by a group...

anyhow once they tell us about the other 2 we shall know....

I think the answer is going to have to be to split the world in two and let each side live in peace without trying to combine the two because lets face it ......it just aint working.......there is trouble ALL OVER THE WORLD because of these religious and cultural differences....

Someone keyed his car?

soldiers do not have their weapons on post unless they are at the range.... or they are MPs on duty.

He could have easily carried weapons thru the gate... officers are rarely checked...

only mps were armed. a security expert on foxnews was just stating that the shooter must have reloaded multiple times to kill 12 people and injure 30 more! many victims have/had multiple gunshot wounds

As memory serves, the standard issue Army pistol, the Baretta 9mm (designated M-9) carries a 15-round clip, and one round can be chambered--for a total of 16 shots without reloading.

SPR: 300-400 soldiers a day go there for last checkups, etc pre deployment.. It is an all day process for the unit there that day.

yep...according to the time line above....last week I think someone keyed allah into his car and he reported it as a hate crime....

he's been brewing on that one all week..

shooter was grad of virginia tech and did medical fellowship after med school at walter reed. he was single in late 30s. was given a poor performance evaluation at walter reed before he transferred to fort hood. the evaluation was in regard to his psych work with patients/soldiers. that is just great. just move the problem to another place.

Good as will I. But, one thought. When the "base closing lists" come up, aren't Army Posts/Forts included on that list? Many people use the term base, including many of us with people in military (in my case, all five branches).

My son, who is in Ft. Rucker, Al.,has always referred to the facility as a "base". When we visit him, we always stay at the Ft. Rucker Base Lodging.

My cousin who knows people at Ft. Hood is hearing M16... but that's rumor at this point.

Watch Fox news, some guy who worked with the shooter is talking about the shooters political views..
Talking about Muslims standing up and fighting against the aggressors..

Yes MP's do carry weapons on post...other soldiers don't usually carry them unless they are going to the firing range with their company and they have to be signed in and out with the arms room.

It's unusual, but Ft. Hood actually does allow service members to carry registered firearms on base. They even have hunting there.

  • [*]Do not bring personal firearms on post before registering them
[*]You must declare firearms at gate after registered
[*]All gates open to registered firearms access

:waitasec::waitasec::waitasec: everyone that goes thru a gate is checked... your car has to be registered (my hubby is an army officer and we are stationed at fort leavenworth)

people are allowed to have registered weapons on post.. personal weapons. They have to be secured.

There is no descrimination at the front gates as to officer or enlisted. Everyone gets the same look over. Additionally, most posts now have civillian guards at the gates because our mps are overseas fighting... even our mp forces on post are supplemented with civillians (such as the officer that killed the perp today and was killed in the process) because there simply are not enough active duty mps left to do these sorts of jobs after all the downrange needs are filled.

yes, bases have hunting and you can have personal registered weapons but in the course of the duty day you cannot carry them around. In the SPC where this happened no one would have had a weapon (or shouldn't have) on them.

I wonder what unit was doing their PDP (pre deployment processing) today and if this major was a part of the unit for the PDP today...
