NEWSFLASH for U.S. Pentagon - Dept of Defense:

IF a military member exhibits displeasure and/or wants OUT of the U.S. Military, please send them on their merry way back to civilianship!

And, if I may, add:

With a bill for the education they received at the US Military's (ie, taxpayers') expense.

(I have friends with medical school bills of $150-$300k.)

Not that what he did was right but I would suggest this fellow took a lot of abuse from some in the military who may not have friendly views of Muslims.

Its all very tragic.

To be honest with you, I wouldn't doubt at all the abuse he took from others who are basically told they are wrong for serving their country irregardless of the oath they took.. Do I feel sorry for him being picked on? NO! Maybe if he had such a problem with our military and what our military is doing, maybe he should go to the country he believes in, and serve in their military.. .
It is very tragic...very tragic!

MOO... he did it all himself.

Here's the deal... my cousin was stationed in Iraq as a mental health counselor. There would be soldiers there who would shoot others or themselves all the time. There are deaths due to soldiers escaping by "huffing" chemicals. These events are just under-reported to us here. I think he did it himself. I was just surprised by his age...

I did read that a golfer was told to exit the golf course and then the third suspect was arrested hiding in a shed on the course.

I am so very pi$$ed right now... why couldn't he just shoot himself in the foot? Why did he have to wipe out nearly an entire unit of HEROS who were about to go serve with pride and dignity.

Also, fragging the toc is not new in the military. (it is a euphamism for killing or attacking the tactical operations center... or upstream officers)..

At this point I am thinking that fragging the toc is just what he had in mind today...

Just the sheer number alone (43) shot won't let me believe he acted alone. Army sniper...maybe. Doctor who has never seen active deployment.....nah.

ITA. Very Tragic. 12 soldiers killed. Who knows how many will survive this. 31 injured. OMG this is so upsetting.

I wonder if the guy left some sort of long manifesto or note explaining himself and if he felt he was doing God a service by shooting so many people.
