'We don't know if you're alive:' Missing woman's roommate pleads for answers

Friends and family are desperately searching for Melody Johnson, 30. She vanished Wednesday, Nov. 7 from her Dallas apartment in the 11500 block of Ferguson Road.

Her roommate reported her missing to police the next day.

Norma Patterson last saw Johnson on her laptop in her bedroom around 11 a.m. at their apartment last Wednesday. Patterson left, then returned about an hour later, and Johnson was gone.

Patterson believes she left through a window in her bedroom. Someone later returned Johnson's cell phone to Patterson, which they said was found nearby. "We don't know where you are, we don't know if you're alive, we're not hearing anything," cried Patterson.

That's strange unless she didn't want her roommate to know what she was doing. And leaving notes in her room hoping she'll come back and read them? Had they had a fight? Sounds a tad strange.

Johnson's family said she has a history of mental illness. This isn't the first time she's disappeared, but she's never been gone this long.
