I believe he made the stop across the bridge after he went to Wal-Mart. The phone expert said he went through Quinlan and across the bridge and stopped for 10-15 minutes. The phone analyst would not be able to state that he went to Wal-Mart, only that he went through Quinlan. But the security video proves he went there. It is possible he came back and went to Wal-Mart after he stopped in East Tawakoni but they didn't say that, and it seems like as he was detailing his route that day he might have stated it differently if he went through Quinlan to a location in E Tawakoni then left there and came back to Quinlan. SM also said they checked video from businesses and did not see a thing. That could mean they didn't see anyone following him but it could also mean they didn't see MC return at all. The route back to his home was not discussed. I think the trip to Wal-Mart was a ruse leading to an ambush.
Klein did confirm the speed was correct, but no bike.

Thanks for refreshing my memory re" Klein actually confirming the speed MC's phone traveled. Now I remember that part :) Wonder why he didn't posit his own thinking as to HOW the phone was transported, if not a bike? Perhaps he hadn't come to his own supposition about that yet, but if so, he's not revealing it. There aren't that many ways...

Thank you for sharing, @ocgrad. It is a well written article with lots of good information, IMO.

From the article:

“That said, Haines admitted that suicide was not the only angle that investigators were looking at. For the integrity of the investigation, however, police have not divulged what else they were considering. They have been treating the case as a homicide though, and Haines was hopeful that someone would eventually come forward.

‘One thing about a case is, as it goes on, loyalties between people kind of diminish and you hope that when those loyalties diminish, whatever they may be, that they’ll contact law enforcement. And give us some information,’ said Haines.” (BBM)

Is this new, or did I miss something? Or is the author of the article surmising that HCSO has been investigating the homicide angle because of what Haines is quoted as saying? Either way, I do not believe HCSO has ever treated the case as a homicide exclusively unless something changed very recently.
I remember seeing Haines say this, either on one of the TV programs or a news interview.

I stepped away from this thread for quite awhile as it was becoming too much. Now I am slowly catching up again, and I still have my theory from the beginning. I still have the feeling this is connected by MC and the wife funneling money to one child, and MC finally put a stop to it and became a victim of foul play. I think possibly, she was more or less blackmailed (more or less) to keep supporting this child to hide infidelity or some other secret. The stuff was sold to bring in quick cash to give to the child, MC was out of the way and she is free to carry on with the lifestyle she wanted. Cover-up is the name of the game, but maybe not by the folks we think.

I feel that early on, this was made difficult by trying to hide some things that was very important. Many families want to think the best of the others but, they often are surprised when the truth comes out. In the mean time, time has passed and important info is lost or left out. I guess I have always felt more of a homicide not suicide and more inside than what we think.

I truly am at a loss still to this day, as to what exactly happened but, something tells me this was too easy to be carried out by a stranger on behalf of the wife. I believe it was someone who was known by MC and would not arise any suspicion to have been in the area. Well thought out plan if you ask me. I just hope this is solved soon. Someone tells everything and get this man home. It is sad that all of this time has passed and secrets are kept that keeps this man from resting in peace.

Sorry for the long post! It is just a theory like all the others.

Very glad you're back with us, MrsNKY! Keep posting for Papaw :)

Let's get MC back to page 1 if we can. Bless you all!

A thought keeps crossing my mind today. If Michael was thrown over a shoulder (potato sack style), could that be a blood drip pattern without any footprints or disturbance to the droplets?

And yeah, I know he's a big dude, but not that big. It would have to be carried out by a big dude. I mean, Marines carry others all the time with gear and everything on. They don't get a break cause someone is tall.

That's a good idea. As I think of how it plays out it seems to me he would need to start bleeding after he went over the shoulder. Otherwise there would be evidence in the spatter of his body having that movement, up and over, and there is none.

There are roll-around engine lifts in his shop that could be used to move someone. They have a center tie off point and once moved, could give the dog-walk effect that PK talks about.

Er, I'm a cat lover & owner, and have no idea what a dog walk effect is. Can someone explain what that means? Thanks in advance.

Just to be sure I understand, no one saw MC return to the workshop. His car and his phone returned, but no one actually saw him, including the neighbor doing yard work. Who saw nothing extraordinary. I wonder what is meant by that, nothing extraordinary. Does that mean the neighbor saw no one, no one unfamiliar to them (family, friends of MC), a stranger (which might be a commonplace occurrence), or did the neighbor see MC or BC, and think nothing of it? I've assumed that the neighbor saw no one, but that's what I read into the statement about seeing nothing extraordinary.

"Dog walking" was a term used by PK describing the blood drops. He thinks it's possible that MC was lifted by two people, one holding the hands and one holding his feet and walking the body somewhere.

Klein saw a movement to the drop pattern that could be made by his body or more pointedly his head swinging somewhat back and forth as 2 people would have tried to carry him out the door.

I like this line of thinking. We read into it that they saw nothing but that isn't what was said. Good catch. Why say "nothing extraordinary" if he saw no one at all?

Totally agree with u & OC. Very good thinking! I never would have caught that in the statement.

See, I just let u guys do the sleuthing.....but I’m always here, quietly cheering u guys on in the background.

Remember if this neighbor is the one I think it is he is an Ex police chief so if something happened while he was outside good chance he notices it.He alerted Klein to the fact that it looked as if Becca pretended to open the door. The neighbor was not home between 12-3 so what ever took place at the garage took place then or after Becca came home.

At first, I thought Klein's "dog-walking" explanation made some sense, but if 2 people did carry MC out of the shop in that manner, it still seems improbable that none of those blood drops were disturbed or smeared at all. I just don't get it. I used to think that it was perhaps one of his hands or arms that were injured, and if he wasn't holding that hand/arm up , or maybe wrapped his shirt around it, that might explain why no foot prints were found in any of the blood.

I wish I could hire someone like Michael Baden or a very experienced blood spatter forensic specialist to pick his or her brain.

I think that's why I tend to believe the blood spatter expert who was hired by HC who believes the blood was planted as well as the TX Ranger who saw the scene. I'm not sure why Klein had a different theory but if I recall he was only in the 1st or 2nd phase of his process and that means not considering what LE has already developed from their investigation but reviewing everything fresh to get his own feel for it.

I agree and I think the blood splatter looks planted too. Because if the picture in the link below is accurate then notice how it goes in a snake pattern back and forth from the main pool. Like someone was purposely trying to not make it a straight line but they messed up and just went back and forth in an S-pattern.

The problem with that is if he had injured himself and was going to the door he would not make a perfect S-pattern to the door.
It would be more random than that.

Its been awhile since I looked at this case but I remember it now. I think its obvious he was setup to go to the store and that allowed someone to sneak in and wait for him. Then he was ambushed when he got back.

I used to think his body would be close to the shed but no more. I now think his body was transported far away from there. The problem is it could be anywhere now.

I really wish LE would solve this case. Its really sad and he didnt deserve that.

Did anyone find out why, exactly, BC got the PO against one of the sons?
