  • According to a police document, 39-year-old Monica Tutt was drunk when she crashed into two parked cars in Southeast Oak Cliff.
  • Her 9-year-old son was in the backseat at the time and suffered a head injury that left his skull visible.
  • Tutt's sister and another family member came to get her. They took off as paramedics arrived, leaving the little boy behind.

Well, at least the paramedics had arrived before she fled and left her son behind. Still, a horrible mistake on her part.

Apparently she was concerned she would never become a nurse because of crashing while drunk with her son in the car. I pray she never becomes a nurse. I would never want my life in her hands.

I wondered why two women couldn't get the nine-year old into the sister's car? Had they been able to do that, would they have rushed him to an ER?

The story does not say but to have such an injury the child must not have been wearing a seat belt, in my opinion. No seat belt. Abandoning her injured child. No mother-of-the-year, that's for sure.

This article says she had multiple previous DWI’s so was nursing even an option for her? I think not!
