Identified! TX- Montgomery Co, Unkracemale Floating In Pond Off Hwy-242, June 2018 - Matthew Jean Johnson

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigated an area for several hours where a body was found in a pond off Texas 242 on Monday, police said.

MCSO was called to the 11110 block of Texas 242 at approximately 3:00 p.m. According to law enforcement, the caller reported seeing the body in the pond located behind the Atkinson Heavy Truck Repair.

"The deceased male was found floating by an employee of the business in the pond behind the business," MCSO Sgt. Paul Hahs said at the scene. "At this point, we do not have any identification on the male or any idea on how old or what race he is due to decomposition and weather conditions. We do believe he has been here for several days."

In regards to whether the body could have floated to the pond from another body of water, Hahs stated that the pond is a landlocked pond so that could not have happened.
"There was not any fishing equipment or anything back there with the body," Hahs said.

MCSO has closed off the area to investigate.

The body was transported for the scene to Montgomery County Forensic Services for an autopsy to determine the manner of death.

There have been three found in a near water in the last few days, not sure if they have been ID’d yet either.

There was one found in a stream in the woods, not sure if he’s been identified.

One in Keegan’s Bayou sounds like he’s been identified but they haven’t released it yet.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide /Violent Crimes Unit have identified the body found Monday afternoon off Texas 242.

The body has been identified as 19-year-old Matthew Dean Johnson of Porter.
