I sure wouldn't think to go to a place like Camp Haven if I were on the lam. a) there are too few other guests, so you can't disappear into a crowd; b) it's all about homey meals--last thing a fugitive would get benefit from is intimate "home-iness"; c) the demographic (yoga crowd, yuppie Caucasians) is too much the same kind of person as KA and likely is also cued into news.
I think I'd pick a large public campground with a wide demographic. There are some large ones in the Catskills: people all over the place.
You might have to show your drivers' license to register at a campground....

This reminds me of Vermont. Amazingly enough there are still places in our nation that are very secluded and way out of the way of a main path. Perfect place to meet up and no one would know or care if you were there. Most likely it was someone who worked there or maintains the grounds or has a affiliation with the owners. What a find, now they know they are on to something.

Now I'm wondering whether the driver's license was sought online or in person (and if at a DMV, where? NYC or upstate?). If the below is accurate, this was done the day before KA was apparently dropped off at the Newark airport.

It's possible her sister legitimately was doing this for her own purposes if she's relocating to NY state (not sleuthing but the article mentions she is a volunteer for the company and currently staying at its NY compound).

So here’s a thought: KA flies to NYC before everything blows up and heads up to see sister who is long term camping upstate. She then takes sufficient identifying information to get a license in sister’s name which would include some sort of instate address or property record as the requirements to establish residency can be as simple as a lease. (https://dmv.ny.gov/forms/id44.pdf) and maybe of a long term campsite. KA then plans to take off from there and travel on sister’s ID as her. This may be why they said her “address popped up” at the camp - that was the address she might have used to get the license because that was the sister’s in-state residence. Also, if LE went looking, they’d find the sister at that address. However, people saw her there and LE possibly put 2 and 2 together.

All kinds of problems with this plan obviously and it remains hard to tell if this points toward a panic flight by KA or a premeditated plan.

I wonder if she might have used CA’s passport (without CA knowing it) to obtain a NY DL in CA’s name - but with KA’s photo on it - then used both documents to fly out of the country from Newark on the day she was dropped off?

Interesting..... Vermont doesn't seem at all remote to me or somewhere you could disappear. I'd pick off the grid in the Pacific NW, Montana, or Sierras. There's so much wilderness in those states: almost none in Vermont, and there are people EVERYWHERE! The back woods are, like, overrun IME. And I find Vermonters like to pry, in everyone else's business.
I see "middle America" or the flyover states as better suited to disappearing, because it would involve a big change of demographic for KA. Heck, start a chicken farm or gas station. Turn those bike-driving talents into "corn harvester driver."

I am not familiar with the PI, Jason Jensen, quoted here but I also still don’t get what happened with her old “Botox warrant”.

The affidavit said KA was apprehended based on the warrant but then it was relayed to the detective the warrant wasn’t valid. Because we are told, the date of birth on the warrant (which was her correct DOB 11/21/87) did not match what was entered in the police record management system. But what was the source of the date in that system, was it a typo or did someone give police a wrong DOB on KA? And in any case, couldn’t they have simply verified that the DOB on the Botox warrant was her correct DOB by checking KA’s drivers license, and then fixed the date in their “record management system”? I could maybe see if the warrant which is a legal document had the wrong DOB that was a problem, but this was not the case. It just doesn’t make sense IMO. The whole chain of events is really unfortunate.

Right, and it seems as though:
1. KA flew from Austin to New York prior to there be any charges or warrants (so she flew into La Guardia openly).
2. Once the murder warrant calling her a fugitive came out on May 17, she was hurriedly dropped at Newark Liberty International Airport the next day.
3. Where did she go from there? What was this application for a driver’s license 3 days after Newark?

The only thing you’re off about is the timing of the driver’s license:

Been thinking about this and doesn’t this make the timeline regarding her father very curious as well. When he made his statement, it seems like he last spoke with her on the 18th/19th. This would have been after she flew to NYC, encountered her sister, the license was applied for and she was then spotted at Newark Airport. Before the facts relating to the sister and the campsite were known, this could have had lots of explanations. However now knowing it appears she may have been with her sister a few hours away at a campsite, it makes both his statement and it’s timing significantly more curious about how much he may have known about her whereabouts and what the content of that conversation could have been.

But it does seem that once the warrants went out for murder in the first degree, and unlawful flight, (May 17) the very next day (May 18) KA was “dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport”. Was this the end of the sister’s help who understandably didn’t want to get arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive from justice?

So that’s now 30 days ago. Where has she been for 30 days?

Going back and looking at the video and articles about the Mike Armstrong interview/statement from the 24th (e.g. Missing Kaitlin Armstrong "did not" murder cyclist love rival, father says), he said he has last spoken with her "about 5 days ago" and "knew where she was". On this timeline, if the camper was correct that she was with her sister in the Catskills at the campground before things blew up, that leads to the conclusion he very likely knew KA was/had been with his other daughter and was recently in the Newark area (if her being spotted is accurate). Yet, the news stories crediting LE recently imply that LE learned of her having been in the Catskills area via the address having "popped up" and apparently associated with a driver's license application/property record of some sort. The interview is also curious as he seems to be speaking to KA in the interview saying "we will figure this out" and not necessarily a plea to come home. Just makes the interview and the information in it seem so much more significant now that LE seems to believe she may have likely been with her sister and may likely be using her sister's identity.
