Do we know why specifically they think she is in danger? Is it just because of the truck being torched or is there more to the story?
It's not making a lot of sense as it is...

She was coming from her friends house just down the road. She also just got out of a possible abusive relationship but there is no indication that that is related.

I'd say the odds are pretty high it is, though I understand your caution in making that statement. Hope I'm very, very, wrong.

A very minor speeding ticket last year listed her with an address in College Station. Brezos county shows that as her "current" address. The property is a small mobile home on a rural lot (fairly isolated). Brazos County Judicial Records Search

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office sent KBTX a statement just before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday:

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office is providing this update regarding the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nicole “Nikki” Winder. Prior media releases have been condensed to present a clear and chronological timeline of events.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, just after 4:00 p.m., the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office and the fire department responded to a possible fire call on FM 974, just north of Highway 21. Upon arrival, personnel located a vehicle on fire parked on an oil pad site. The vehicle was later confirmed to belong to Nicole “Nikki” Winder.

Deputies and investigators immediately began efforts to contact Nikki. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that she had last been seen around 3:00 p.m. that same day in the 19000 block of FM 974, leaving a residence where she was employed.

After speaking with family members and friends and determining there was concern for her safety, an alert was initiated with our partners at Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, followed by the issuance of a CLEAR Alert for Ms. Winder.

In the days that followed, coordinated search operations were conducted. Both the property where Nikki was last seen and the property where the vehicle was recovered have been extensively searched utilizing K-9 teams, drones, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Air Support Unit, along with assistance from the Search Dog Network, Texas Search and Rescue, and other supporting agencies.

We continue to ask residents in the area of FM 974 — particularly between Highway 21 and Macey Road — to review any available security or game camera footage from February 25, 2026. Anyone who observes Nikki’s vehicle, described as a white 2025 Chevy truck with black rims, or who has information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at (979) 361-4900.

Although those locations have been thoroughly searched, the investigation and search efforts remain active and ongoing. We are expanding our search areas and continuing to pursue all leads as they are received. Resources with the Search Dog Network and Texas Search and Rescue remain available and will be deployed as needed as the investigation progresses.

Our priority remains locating Nikki and ensuring a thorough and complete investigation. We are deeply grateful for the support from our partner agencies and the community. The continued tips, assistance, and encouragement mean a great deal to Nikki’s family and to everyone working this case. Please know that we remain fully committed to this investigation and will continue following every lead until Nikki is located.
