In total, eight people shot were in the chaos at Memorial and Wilcrest.

Houston Police were back on the scene Monday morning where eight people were shot to check out a bag. They believe it was detonated by SWAT Sunday night and left behind right next to this gas station that erupted in flames during the gunfire.

Officers said the bag, which contained ammo and documents, may belong the suspect.

The two constable officers who were shot have been treated and released from the hospital.

Three bystanders who were shot remain in the hospital.

So the backpack may not have been originally found at the service station, but detonated there by SWAT because, heck, the place already had a good amount of fire damage.

Bad form to have television reporters find evidence you left behind, Houston PD. Just sayin'.

Frances Martinez was at the Chase Bank ATM when her day took a frightening turn. A woman ran to her car, screaming about a shooting. That's when she saw the gunman come out of the car wash across the street.

Subject1 shot at her car "several times," but she was able to drive away from the scene.

These events took place at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Wyclff Avenue.

The auto detail/car wash is on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The Conoco service station is across Wyclff on the northwest corner.

Chase Bank is on the southeast corner directly across Memorial from the auto detail/car wash.

Police say a second man is no longer a suspect and was in fact a Good Samaritan trying to help in Sunday’s deadly shooting in west Houston.

The Good Samaritan was shot by suspect as he tried to help and fight back. He was critically injured, but Houston Police say he is expected to survive.

The medical examiner on Monday identified the deceased victim in the shooting as Eugene Linscomb.

Multiple abc13 sources have identified the suspect in Sunday's west Houston mass shooting as a 25-year-old veteran from California. Dionisio Garza III is from San Bernardino County and served four tours of duty in Afghanistan. He was discharged from active duty in 2014, and doesn't appear to have a criminal history.

I wonder what Dionisio Garza III was doing in Houston.
