Houston woman was found passed out on a sidewalk after being missing for two days, but her newly adopted black Labrador mix, Maximus, seemingly didn't leave her side.

Pearl Radcliff, 84, disappeared on Wednesday and was last seen in the 11800 block of Acadian Drive in the afternoon. "Pearl is known to take walks with her dogs," rescue organization Texas EquuSearch said at the time.

As reported by news outlet KHOU 11, Radcliff had adopted Maximus just over a week before she went missing.

Radcliff's nephew Dawne Griffith was alerted to her whereabouts on Friday afternoon just before 5 p.m., according to KHOU 11. The 84-year-old had been taken into Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston.

Officials said that Radcliff is doing well, which Griffith confirmed. Before receiving the call, Texas EquuSearch volunteers were heading to Radcliff's home to aid search efforts.

Radcliff's dog sticking by her side goes to show just how far the relationship between a dog and its human goes, no matter how new it is.
