As for 2, I wonder what that's all about. Why she wouldn't have any privacy. Doesn't make any sense to me.
I don't remember the family ever saying she was being watched in the shower.

They said Vanessa told her mother that her superior entered the locker room where she was showering and sat down and talked to her. She told him it was innappropriate and that it made her uncomfortable.

This is the first I've heard that he "watched" her.

If that occurred in a locker room, then it sounds to me like it was a female in that instance. The family may have heard this story and assumed it was a male.

Guy sounds like a real control freak (Edit: Information in the article has not been confirmed):

Calumet City Soldier Aaron David Robinson Was Main Suspect In Murder Of Fellow Soldier Vanessa Guillen

Aaron David Robinson, 20, died by suicide Wednesday morning as investigators were closing in.

The Calumet City native entered the Army in October 2017 and was a combat engineer.

Guillen’s family said she planned to file a harassment complaint against Robinson, said Robinson became enraged when she told him and killed her a day before she planned to do it.

This is citing other reporting, and appears to be a major error. The AA talks about her allegedly threatening to report him over an affair, and him becoming enraged and killing her.

There are no other reports that she was going to report him for sexual harassment.

Also major error on their part, they state that CA was AR “estranged wife”

My guess is what seems to me the most logical and straightforward scenario here: That AR's advances were rebuffed by VG or he sexually assaulted VG. And that he killed her with the hammer during a struggle. Afterwards, AR lied to his girlfriend CA about what went on. He made CA think that it started when VG tried to cause trouble for them (AR and CA) as a couple, so that CA could be convinced to help him cover up the crime.

The other events and circumstances, such as the sexual harassment and the roll call discrepancy, could easily be "red herrings" and not related to the murder.

I'd be interested to know if AR had any prior reports of sexual violence against women.

I’d be willing to bet money that he sexually harassed other women, assuming that the motive of this was sexual, as I believe.

This sort of thing doesn’t come out of nowhere, and I’d be interested to know his history, reported or otherwise.

I feel like I now have more questions than I had before the press conference.

As this guy wasn’t in her chain of command, and worked in an adjacent building, then motive is still up in the air.

I now believe he found himself with an opportunity, and made sexual advances towards Vanessa. She rebuffed him, and he killed her in a rage.
I think he was having an affair with the girl that was arrested and vanessa found out about it and he killed her to save his job.

This, to me, is the critical question. Who reported her present that afternoon?
Wasn't 4/22 her day off? A person is not required to "report" on their day off. She would have been reported as "day off" by her platoon leadership in the morning.

The unnamed person who locked up VG's armory room at the end of the day noticed that her personal property was there (item #2). We are not told in the affidavit, but he probably reported that to the CQ or XO when he left for the day, per local SOP. The affidavit clearly states (item #1) that VG was reported missing to CID the following day 4/23.

Is this just a rumor with legs that someone reported VG present when she was not? j/a JMO

All he would have to do is deny it, as that’s an extraordinarily hard thing to prove.

I don’t know why she would look at his phone, how she would look at his phone, why she would care, or why he would lash out with violence.

To me, it makes sense that he would tell CA this, as he needed her help. He couldn’t exactly say “I made sexual advances to a woman, she fought me off, and I killed her.”

That scenario makes much more sense to me than the affair thing, which doesn’t make sense to me on any level.

I wonder why the FBI evidence team was not called in when Tim M. found VGs items burned in a fire pit?

CID doesn't look to have an equivalent team.
Because that occurred off base, it wouldn’t have been their jurisdiction. We do know that the Texas Department of Public Safety (state law enforcement) was involved, so maybe they provided resources.

Confusing. The Bell County Sheriff could call them in, exceptions could be made to get their expertise.

Okay - I would like to follow this case. I have scanned the last 1500 posts - and unfortunately - this is Bell County - I have NO access. But then I read she (CA) is being transferred by the U.S. Marshalls to a federal facility.

Does anyone have access to this? I just would like to know her first court date - which probably won't be until next week - consider this is the 4th of July weekend.

TIA if you can help me! :)

She’s still in local jail, as of about a minute ago. At some point she will be taken into Federal custody, and the legal ball will begin rolling.

As of now, I haven’t heard when that might be.

ETA: I did see your tag the other night, asking for court information in one case we’re following, and I couldn’t find a damn thing.

Thanks for that info! My goof - it should have said I have NO access to Bell County site.
Just tag me if you hear anything more! TIA! :)
Now I'll have to figure "which" case I tagged you on...
