I haven't seen the definitive map on those locations. Is there one you have seen?
Separating wallet and keys from purse then carrying just phone seems awkward.
I'm not sure how to link from the *MEDIA,MAPS,TIMELINE ONLY NO DISCUSSION but one one of the posts says Guillen's car also was found where she usually parked it outside her barracks -- within walking distance of where she worked, Mayra Guillen said.

I think it was her mom that said her purse was still in the car, but I'll keep looking for that one. :)

Court tv segment very critical of the Army's handling of this case. The commentator remarked that he is "floored" by the seemingly lack of action in the case. IMO, I'm not floored at all. Just because details aren't being released, doesn't mean an investigation is not ongoing. We have seen that in so, so many cases.

FT. HOOD MISSING SOLDIER: Where is Vanessa Guillen?

Of anyone, a CourtTV site ought to be aware that details of an ongoing investigation are not made public.

I also was critical of the Army in this case, but not so much now. I think some of Tim Millers interviews swayed me to think they
are doing just fine. I listened to TM talk to Tricia the other night. They are on it.

There is typically a pretty decent success rate when it comes to retrieving deleted phone information (texts, searches, photos).

Specialized software makes it especially easy to process and analyze that stuff.

There really isn't "specialized software" outside of having the device. (In regards to the texts)

The context was having the suspect’s phone.

Yeah, because these investigators are CID, they are able to prevent leaks. Crimes being investigated by military agencies don’t have the issues that occur in the civilian world.

They have interviewed hundreds of people, and scoured the base. Up until just recently, we had no idea how much they had done.

I was critical up until a couple days ago, but not anymore.

BBM:

I have never been critical of CID's handling of this case.
I have never been critical, because my default position is always to give LE the benefit of the doubt, unless/until they give me reason to doubt them.

I haven't seen LE behave any differently in this case than in any of the other missing person cases I've followed.

That people would actually believe that CID never requested VG's phone records until last week is beyond ludicrous.

To be honest, I've stopped following this case as closely because I got sick and tired of reading the baseless assumptions of incompetence and even outright accusations of malfeasance on the part of CID and/or the military leadership at Fort Hood.

I think a lot of other people are tuning this case out now for the exact same reason.

"Fort Hood officials were able to give a bit of a timeline of what happened April 22, the day Guillen was last seen at Fort Hood.

On that day, Guillen, an Army small-arms repairer who works in the troop armory, was not supposed to be at work due to the alternate schedules because of the coronavirus.

She was called into work that day and was not in uniform.

Phone records from Sprint indicate that her last communication via phone was a text message at 11:30 a.m. April 22, Garcia said in the press conference.

Khawam said one of Guillen’s final text messages was to her supervisor, and it contained the serial number of a weapons system.

Why would she put that in a text message?” Khawam asked. “That seems like it defeats protocol."

This has me wondering if her disappearance could have something to do weapon thefts or diversion. Yes, it absolutely is not supposed to happen in the Army. But her last text was about a weapon serial number. I hope, as part of the investigation, CID is having the armory audited and inventoried. This was a day she was not supposed to be at work. What a perfect time to stumble onto something not quite right!

from findvanessaguillen.com:

Vanessa's Story

My name is Vanessa Guillen. I knew I wanted to join the US Army to proudly serve my country as soon as I graduated from high school. I loved the US Army until I got to Fort Hood.

I disappeared from Fort Hood, Texas on April 22, 2020.

Three weeks before I disappeared, my mom asked me why I seemed different. My mom knows me better than anyone else. She noticed I had become withdrawn and that I wasn’t able to sleep like I used to.

I finally told my mom that I was being sexually harassed by one of my sergeants on Fort Hood. My mom tried tried to convince me to give her the name of the person who was harassing me, but I didn’t want to get in trouble. My mom told me that she would report it for me, but I told her that I knew of other female soldiers that had reported sexual harassment and that the US Army didn’t believe them. I told my mom how the same sergeant that sexually harassed me would follow me whenever I would run and exercise and how uncomfortable it made me feel. My mom told me she would put a stop to it, but I told her I would take care of it myself. I felt I could put a stop to it myself. All I had to do was do something, say something. I was ready to take care of it.

But I have been missing ever since. I didn’t get a chance to give my mom a name. I didn’t get a chance to report it to anyone.

Please don’t forget about me.

has it been posted that a female soldier was found dead in a fort hood parking lot just one year ago? (april 2019). she was the assistant to the chaplain (and looked very much like vanessa). her name was erica atkinson-cobb, and she was a married mom of 5. fort hood, on average, since 2016, has had 36 deaths per year, or 3 per month. i found that information staggering.

I see no evidence that there was foul play suspected in the case you have mentioned. Do you have a link to support that there was, in fact, foul play involved? I did see her death mentioned online in the context of the importance of "self care," which would suggest her passing is unrelated to to VG's case. IMO

Replying to myself. I did find a link from April 2019 that states foul play has not been ruled out in the case of EAC, but I'm not sure I should link it here on VG's thread.

That was one of my possible series too because you know those movies about people selling stolen military weapons on the black market. So well it could happen. I'd imagine that maybe it's just ammo or small hand guns or like a M4 missing but hey it adds up.

The victim did relate that: "They are like a gang" when describing the people she feared.

Thefts from the armory could not only include complete weapons, but parts that could be used to convert legal civilian weapons into illegal military versions of the same weapon. I am vaguely aware that the ordering of certain key replacement parts such as bolts is also tightly controlled.

As you stated, the army and weapons have been married a long time and undoubtably have a series of checks, counter checks and final verifications to prevent either out right weapons thefts or the creative and unaccounted acquisition of certain parts.

At the same time, weapons thefts have occurred. Perhaps a group of individuals maybe able to defeat some of the cross checking procedures regarding weapons or parts as they verify each other? Even if this occurred, there could well be periodic audits by teams from outside the individual armory as a final preventive measure.

But.... thefts have occurred in the past and as you stated, the possibility is worth following up on.

From what I gathered in an interview by the family's lawyer, she said they had just barely requested the phone records. I'll look for it.

From what I gathered in an interview by the family's lawyer, she said they had just barely requested the phone records. I'll look for it.
U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Houston, who also attended the Fort Hood meeting, said officials on Tuesday told the family that phone records show Guillen was last contacted at 11:30 a.m. the day she was last seen...
---
ETA:
One text message sent on Guillen’s private cellphone to a supervisor that day was a serial number of a gun she was tasked with reviewing, according to Khawam. The attorney called the text message “disturbing” and said she suspects Guillen may not have been the one to send the message.

Several people also reported seeing Guillen that day. However, Garcia said base officials Tuesday would not disclose who was the last to see her, citing an active investigation.

i won't go off topic and post anymore links, but if you google search her name you can find a few things. ( i did not have access to most of the links under her name on google ((from the eu)), so i cannot say for sure what those articles said.) the second link i posted in my op lists the cause of death as "unknown." i wasn't intentionally trying to imply that it was related to vanessa's, just stating that their appearances were similar, and i found that very interesting. :)
