Gate camera isn’t going to show if someone is covered up in the backseat or in a trunk.
True. And sadly I do think that is how she was transported out.
MOO
A camera will show all the traffic in the relevant time period and one by one each car and driver can be eliminated.

Well this is sad but incredibly predictable. If they had a tip and had reason to be there, it would be very surprising if this wasn't her.

CID and LE did a very good job here; two months is very fast in our world, especially considering the vastness of that base and what appears to be all the land involved inside and outside of it.

A tip or relying on a citizen's or a businesses' camera.

I am heartbroken to read this. What a beautiful, strong young woman taken too soon. Sending love to her family who has been fighting so hard for a voice. I’ll be so excited to hear of an arrest any day now..

THANK YOU, rio.

This needed to be said.

I think whoever did this finally found a conscience. One thing you have to remember, soldiers know and hear about what is going on in their workplace(Unit) from the lowest private to the highest rank, but are told not to discuss it. They all know who her immediate supervisor (Chain of Command) etc. are as well, but you still haven't heard a peep of a name. All military branches are entities of their own. Regardless, whoever is responsible puts a stain on the entire military and coverups do happen...Having a murderer amongst the ranks is just mind blowing...Again, people in the military or no different than the ones that's not, they're human; there's the good ones and there's the bad ones. May this soldier RIP and her family gets the closure and justice they deserve if this is her they've found.

MOO hope it is true that a tip came that unravels who and the motive.

"The search for Vanessa is now over," said Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller. I just spoke with him. He said the remains were found very close to where they discovered evidence last week in the Leon River. He described the discovery as a "shallow grave." The medical examiner will need to determine the identity of the remains found. We'll have a live report on ABC13 Houston this afternoon.

So horrific for her family, but I hope they've found her. Probably took them a while to go through all the footage of the traffic leaving the base that afternoon. Moo.

Agree. Too many soldiers turning up with mysterious deaths. Most probably don't feel safe on base and you really can't blame them.

Partial human remains.
Can’t even begin to imagine what her poor mother is going through. May God give them the strength to survive this nightmare, and bring to justice to those that did this.

Siento mucho lo que te pasó, Vane.

Ve con Dios, y descansa en paz, Vane :(

Vanessa, you deserved so much better! I never met you, but will never forget you. RIP... I am so so sorry this happened to you!

on the fb live the reporter is saying partial human remains were found, and that it was an area they searched last week already, so i don't even know what to make of that.

If Tim Miller says the search is now over, we can read between the lines...

Que descanses en Paz Vanessa Guillen!
