Hi, anyway her stuff could have been planted in the vault/at the base. Or is it confirmed she was there that day? I will never get accustomed to people thinking its okay to takes someone's life then go about their lives. MOO

Thats why I was asking about her items being inside or outside of the actual vault. Very few people would have access into the vault besides her, but anyone could leave it outside the actual vault. Inside or outside both raise different questions.

This was my earlier post:

As for why her belongings may have been in the arms room:

If I read correctly, she was supposed to have the day off. Unfortunately, for an armorer, if you are not on official leave or far, far, away from the unit, the arms room must be opened by you or one of the other very few people who have access to the room. I speculate that she was called in to open the vault, which means she will also have to close the vault at some point too. Its not unheard of for an armorer to lock their items inside of the vault if they are taking a quick walk away from it. This could imply that she was fully intending on coming back.

Big question is this: Were the items found inside the armory, behind the spin lock and massive door? Or where the items found before the lock and door? If found behind it, this implies that she locked them inside and fully planned on returning for them, unlocking the vault upon return. If it was found before the big door and lock, then this could possibly indicate she was abducted before opening and unlocking the vault.

Miller said the remains were found in a shallow grave about 100 feet from the Leon River, a short distance from where searchers found another missing soldier, Gregory Wedel-Morales, on June 19. He said the remains found Tuesday had been concealed “to the point where nobody could see it.”

Remains of Vanessa Guillen likely found near Fort Hood, search leader says

This very small distance between them bothers me

I am interested to find out if the killer is someone who was was in a position to influence the extent of the initial investigation of Vanessa’s disappearance.

Damn, y’all. I was hoping this wasn’t Vanessa. I don’t think it’s been confirmed that it’s her, has it? (I’m behind. Work is swamping me.) IF it is, I’m glad her family can respectfully bury her. IF it isn’t, I hope she’s somehow still alive. (I can’t help but hold on to a sliver of hope every time...especially after Jayme Closs.)

Only insomuch as they lied or delayed. This was run up the chain of command, and they brought in CID when she couldn’t be located.

From that point on, CID had the ball.

Awaiting autopsy results, but Tim Miller is absolutely convinced it is her.

Curious how long it will take ? Like most of you I’ve followed her case and had hoped for a different outcome - I really hope they have evidence so she and her family will have justice
So we wait ..

UPDATE: It was a man working in the area that smelled a foul odor and called Bell County Sheriff's Office around 11:30 a.m. this morning, according to law enforcement on the scene. Here's what we know right now. #VanessaGuillen #FindVanessaGuillen #KHOU11

I know it’s not confirmed officially yet. Can y’all imagine knowing your loved one is missing, and hearing “smelled a foul odor”? I’d be devastated beyond belief. Couldn’t they have let that detail go until AFTER we know who it actually is?:(

So very sad to hear that Vanessa is likely no longer with us, but if true, I'm so glad her remains were found. I think that the increased attention over the last few weeks helped. I think Tim and Equusearch helped. Her family's strength and outspoken communications helped. Now we need to bring justice. Someone knows more. It appears Tim was given a tip to that area. Does the killer have a weak link in his 'gang'? I hope we see an arrest this week.

Thank you! I trust Tim. He has a very very good reason for thinking it’s her or he wouldn’t say it.

I will reserve my final thoughts until the remains have been positively identified as Vanessa, but I have no basis on which to discount TES/Tim Miller’s statement.

Regardless, all my thoughts are with Vanessa’s family, loved ones, & friends tonight. They have been steadfast in their resolve and deserve nothing but my utmost admiration and respect.

A few days ago someone posted a link to a document that listed all missing/murdered Ft. Hood soldiers. I can't find it now. Does anyone have that link handy by any chance?

Tim Miller doesn’t play. If he said it’s her, it’s her.

May justice be swift.

I hope that law-enforcement had some type of surveillance on the searched area after Tim Miller found evidence last week. A game camera would be great. Can you imagine the killer knowing that evidence was found so close to where he buried the body and not going back to check on it?
Even if he didn’t revisit the scene of the crime, there has to be some noticeable difference in his demeanor in the last few days.

I was hoping for a different ending, but unlike many other cases, I never had much hope for this one. Just glad she's been found.
