My stomach dropped when I read grave or immediate danger. Mom, please don't hurt your little boy!
This is just a guess, but an educated one based upon past tragic cases we've seen here. I'm guessing she hated her ex husband more than she loved her child. And she acted upon that bitter hatred.

Unfortunately, seems like a lot of that going on these days.

Can’t imagine this dad’s heartbreak.

Community Holds Vigil for Waxahachie 6-Year-Old Found Dead After Amber Alert

More than 100 people came together in downtown Waxahachie Saturday night to remember a 6-year-old boy found dead hours after authorities issued an Amber Alert.

They gathered around a growing memorial of stuffed animals and balloons along the wall of the Ellis County Courthouse parking garage where 6-year-old Philip Oliver "Ollie" Wiedemann's body was discovered Friday.

Both he and his mother, who police said did not have custody, were found dead after reports that she had abducted him.

At the vigil, candles were lit as Alan Fox invited the community forward to speak.

WAXAHACHIE, Texas - Many questions remain unanswered following the death of a 6-year-old boy and his mother, who were found in a Waxahachie parking garage.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert Friday afternoon for Phillip Oliver Weidemann, who goes by Ollie, and his mother, Candace Harbin.

Waxahachie police believed Harbin, who did not have custody of her son, took the boy.

Community members have been coming to the parking garage where their bodies were found all day Saturday to leave cards, flowers, and toys - stuffed animals and Hot Wheels cars - to honor the little boy who lost his life here.

Mourners laid toys and stuffed animals outside a downtown parking garage Saturday where a 6-year-old boy was found dead along with his mother.

The Waxahachie Police Department declined to comment Saturday, saying the deaths were under investigation.

A woman who is a relative of Harbin’s, according to public records, said Harbin was a “wonderful” person and Phillip Wiedemann was a “wonderful” grandson. The woman, reached by telephone on Saturday, declined to identify herself.

“Candace was just in a bad place,” she said. “She was being pushed into a hard place.”

The relative said Harbin had a very contentious divorce from John Wiedemann. He filed for divorce in 2016, according to Ellis County court records.

This sounds like "look what you made her do"-ish

Again, this is why parental abductions need to be taken seriously. I’ve heard too many people complain about receiving AAs on their phones re: parental abductions.

LEO's need to also be more prompt on sending them out as well. I've noticed Texas as a whole have been delayed and I have no idea as to why. MOO.

Father of 6-year-old who was found dead after Amber Alert: 'Ollie was an amazing young boy'

On Monday, a statement was released on behalf of the boy's father. In the written statement, John described "Ollie" as a caring boy who loved going to school.

“Ollie was an amazing young boy who cared about people. He always wanted to make others happy and if ever a classmate was having a tough day, he would reach out to help them. He loved swimming, Legos and superheroes but most of all he loved going to school.”

The Wiedemann family also thanked local law enforcement for their help and asked the community for prayers.

“Nothing can be said or done that will bring Ollie back and we ask for privacy as we grieve,” the statement partially said.

A justice of the peace handling the case said on Monday the cause and manner of death is officially marked as “pending”.

It will probably be weeks before there is an answer as to exactly how little Ollie and his mother died.

Court Documents: Concern Raised For Ollie Wiedemann's Safety Long Before His Death

Harbin had an extensive history of mental health issues. Two of the places she lived in the last eight years, burned down. Given that, Wiedeman’s attorney described the case as a mental health issue, not a custody battle gone wrong.

Waxahachie city employee first spotted car at center of Amber Alert

After calling 911, police quickly arrived at the location. Iglesias says officers broke in a window and immediately reacted as if something was coming from inside it.

"Whenever we see them break the window, they all just step back real far and start like wafting the air around their face," Iglesias recalled. "It's kind of like the reaction if you've ever seen like a stink bomb go off."

There was also a hazmat response, though investigators have yet to detail what prompted the call-out. Police have revealed very little about the case, but they did say they are not looking for any suspects.

Court filings show Harbin was allowed to pick up her son Ollie from school last Thursday.

A custody agreement Harbin and her ex-husband said her visits were supposed to always be supervised, but attorneys said that could be lifted if Harbin was following other elements of the agreement.

Harbin had asked to have the supervision requirement removed, and the final hearing was set for October.

In a psychologist’s assessment though 2019, the doctor wrote he believed the situation “will eventually cause considerable damage to Ollie.”

Joseph Iglesias said his heart sank when he drove to the top level of a downtown parking garage and saw the 2012 Nissan Quest minivan police were looking for.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said Iglesias. “I picked up my phone dialed 911.”

He said investigators smashed in the rear driver’s side window and their immediate response was telling.

“They were all dazed, almost. Something was wrong.”
