Fourth suspect arrested in Burnet kidnapping case

BURNET, Texas (KXAN) — A fourth person has been arrested in a case where a woman was beaten and kept captive in a Burnet house for nearly a year.

On Tuesday, Burnet police issued two warrants for the arrest of Jamie Cal Martin, 38, of Burnet, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Kidnapping

Charlotte Elaine Arms, 46, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sexual assault. Stubbs sentenced her to 15 years in prison on each count, which she’ll serve concurrently.

According to court records, Walker Wayne Shapland pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Stubbs also sentenced him to 15 years on each charge, which Shapland will also serve concurrently...

Two other men, Jamie Cal Martin and Thomas Simon, were also charged and indicted in the case. Their cases are still pending.
