Yes, I'm sure that's why she broke contact, but I don't understand it. There is a lot of speculation that her father was involved, so maybe that's why. I just don't know. I think that the Grayson County Sheriff's Department needs a reminder on this. Isn't there someone on here that has a connection to the various LE offices? I thought I saw something one time.

My mom's death was a long time ago, so I'm okay, but thank you. There was no justice for her though. That's why I get so frustrated with LE agencies that brush aside family violence cases.

  • Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Baker has a mole on the bridge of her nose, hysterectomy scar on her abdomen and a previously broken wrist. She wears an upper denture plate. Her nickname is Rosie and she may use the last name Wheeler.

Details of Disappearance​

Baker was last seen in late May or early June 1980 in the 1000 block of Burrows Chapel Road in Whitesboro, Texas. Her husband stated she left their residence without warning in the middle of the night. She has never been heard from again. Her car, purse and clothing were left behind.

The investigation into Baker's disappearance was reopened in 2007. Her case is now considered to be a homicide. It remains unsolved.

Rose has not been listed as an exclusion for UP6116 found 10/17/1981 in Hallettsville,TX which is a straight shot South on Hwy 77 from Whitesboro for about 330 miles. Decedent is described as a white female between the ages of 35-75 unable to estimate height (but at least 5’0”) or weight. Wearing black double knit slacks sized 37x28 and slip-on shoes with red braid across top.
