I'm so sorry Roxy has been gone for so long. I can't imagine your pain just the thought of my son being lost makes me cry. You are so strong, and I am continuously impressed by how you carry on everyday. Everyone can clearly see how much you love and care for Roxy. I hope she comes home safely to you and the rest of her family. I lived in TX, and have traveled extensively on I-35 from Dallas to San Antonio it's just such a easy place to disappear. My cousin still lives in Austin I'm going to e-mail her a flier and some information about the case just in case she hasn't heard about Roxy. Before I tell her about Roxy it would be nice to know far was the hotel from Round Rock, 8th street and UT? I know she is familiar with all of these areas especially UT she's a student there. She is also familiar with a lot of the local parks especially if they have a dog park. I know she volunteered on several dog park/park improvement projects, she was even a contact person for a few of the projects. So if there are any parks in the area their names would be helpful as well. I'm not really sure why I didn't think of bring this up to her before. I guess because I am in VA I didn't think there was really anything I could do to help search for Roxy.

Hi spazkat. Thank you for caring and emailing your sister about Roxy. It Budget Motel on the south bound lane of IH 35 at Rundberg Lane in Austin. If you tell your sister she will probably know about where it is. It is a straight shot south from Round Rock on IH 35 just a few miles. But, really at this point if we put fliers anywhere in or near Austin, even in Round Rock that would be good. The more people that know and that see her pic and info, the better.

This is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read and certainly the most tragic I have ever witnessed. I beg your heart to find some peace and comfort. Your pain is such that I cannot breathe when I am here. I feel it so much and I am so sorry. Yet, I read this poem over and over. I cannot and be here on this site with my whole heart. I love you, Lizzy. I hope peace finds you.

Hi Liz:blowkiss:. This is a great idea, and I am glad that APD is doing this and that in a way Roxy will be represented. I may be working until about 9 pm on Friday, the 3rd, but if I get off early I will be there.

I want you to know that although I am working many hours and don't have the time that I had before, I read every day. I care, and I keep updated about dear Roxy. Best to you an your family.

It sounds like a great idea! They do this where I live periodically and it helps to develop relationships within the community and with LE. Anytime and any way you can get Roxy's face and name out there, it is a good thing! You never know where that one lead might come from! Good luck and God bless, Lizzy!

If the area doesn't already have something in place, around the country in various places, they are trying a new system for reporting crimes where they give people a phone line to call in tips to remain positively anonymous without fear of retalliation. The calls are not routed through the system here and are not traceable back to the callers. Anonymity is absolutely guaranteed. People are very afraid to talk to LE with good reason. They say it really seems to be working here. You might ask if LE has anything like this set up and if not, they can check with Los Angeles PD for more info.

Memo from APD:

I’m sending this information, hoping not to miss anyone who may have an interest in the quality of life in what we call the North Central Area Command. The North Austin Coalition of Neighborhoods has worked tirelessly to promote and hold this event. The officers in our command will be providing security, traffic control, information booths, and food. This is the first time in my 26 years that a coalition of neighborhoods has conducted an outreach such as this. Rundberg lane and the criminals that work and live there do have an impact on every neighborhood in this community. I ask, if you’re able, to come by and participate in this walk. Parking will be at Barrington Elementary and Hollywood Video. Please contact any of the DRs or me if you have any questions about the location, route, map or have any other questions.

A Night without Crime on Rundberg

Proposal: the North Austin Coalition of Neighborhoods (NACN), which represents over 70,000 residents in our command, has requested that we support them in what they are calling a “Night without Crime on Rundberg”.

Problem statement: This coalition of the 8 largest and most active associations in our command, have recognized that Rundberg is the gateway into our community. Unfortunately, it is a source of violent crime, prostitution, and the drug trade. While police are very active in this area, making numerous arrests and networking with the community, Rundberg continues to be a dangerous place, highlighted by a recent homicide in a local convenience store.

Action Plan: The coalition wants to have a walk down Rundberg in the area between IH 35 and Lamar. They are pledging walkers from all of the associations, several churches, schools, and local businesses to demonstrate that residents will no longer tolerate crime and the devastating effect it is having on their quality of life. They want to support and encourage the Police and Code Enforcement in their attempts to combat crime and urban decay in the community.

· The event will occur on 8-3-07, between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

· There is a vacant lot near North Creek and Rundberg. Residents want to use this as a staging area for walkers, information booths, displays, barbeque and beverages. Residents have secured permission from the property owner.

· Residents have secured commitments from local businesses for donations to include food, beverages, and funding.

· The current estimate of participants is from 150 to 300 people. The coalition requests that the NCAC provide traffic and crowd support.

This community has suffered from the stifling affect of crime on and around Rundberg. Their outcry and willingness to hold such an event may be the very thing this neighborhood needs restore hope and order for years to come. I am recommending that our command embrace this proposal and support the residents in their request for assistance.

This is the exact area that Roxanne disappeared.from
The resident of this area is needing the power of the people to be there and help fight crime.
It is going to be a BIG event

Hello All,
The March against crime on Rundberg Ln was was a great success, almost 500 people showed up to support against cleaning up the area in and around Rundberg Ln,
The Police support was strong and present to the community,
The new Chief of Police was there , who I was able to meet and speak with him about our Roxanne,
My family and I were honored to be able to be there to show our support in this years night without crime,
Sadly though, there has been another murder just off Rundberg on Saturday night, the day after the march
Still so much more need to be done,
But I believe this area can and will be cleaned up with the devotion of the community

Here's another update on Roxanne Paltauf Missing since 7-7-06

I received a email from a student at UT on Friday
Below is some of what he wrote......................

Dear Ms. Harris,

I am a graduate film student at the University of Texas at Austin.
With your participation, we could make a short documentary about your
missing daughter. My highest hope is that it would lead to the safe
recovery of your daughter


Well, I met with him, Andy,
Nice young man.....
We went over details on how this would be done and we , Our family, have agreed to do this....
He has 3 months to complete it
It is a class assignment
In the end it will be a short 10 minute documentary about our Roxanne,
The who, what ,when, why, and how on the disappearance on Roxanne

Who knows what this could leads to........., hopefully Answers

I believe whole hearted that God bring people and situations in our lives to helps get through difficult time, and now he has sent another blessing our way
another chance to keep the light shinning on Roxanne, who is the shinning light in our hearts....
There's not a second of the day that she is not on my mind, in my thought, and in my prayers,


I also want to say thank you all of you who continue to pray for Roxanne, and your sweet comments Regarding Roxanne,
I know sometimes I don't respond back, but I do Read them all, IT just hard at times
It hard not knowing the next step I should take to find her....., but here we go again on a new mission.......

I think the documentary is an excellent idea! Maybe others should suggest this to various schools to promote missing campaigns on campus.

Showing a film, no matter how long it is, will not only make the students aware of Roxy, but also aware of how vulnerable they are in the choices they make. Kudos to this bright and insightful guy! Good luck, Lizzy! You never know where leads may come from!
