GUILTY TX - Samantha Dean, 29, pregnant Kyle PD employee, murdered, Bastrop, 4 Feb 2015 *arrests*

The problem is that it is exceedingly hard to give a jury the kind of evidence that is provided byte shows. Jurors ditch their brains and common sense at the door. Nowadays, if you don't have video and a confession backed up by forensic evidence, these wimpy jurors vote not guilty and walk away without a tinge of moral concience. MOO

I don't understand why this guy is on leave. They did not even work for the same employer, did they? Maybe I missed something. Now if that was his baby and they were still together at the time of her death, I could see him requesting some vacation/P TO for himself. But put on leave?

Samantha volunteered for the Austin Police department: http://www.kvue.com/story/news/loca...-investigation-a-whodunit-type-case/24296081/
Dean, who was seven months pregnant, worked as a crime victims counselor for the Kyle Police Department. She also volunteered for the Austin Police Department.

Officially, however, the leave of absence has "nothing" to do with the case and has to do with driving erratically. Red tape. We won't know any more until there is a significant break in the case or an arrest.

Wow - thanks for the update, Third Coast Gal. I was just thinking about Samantha today when I was talking with family members who live near the shopping complex where she was found.

UPDATE- 3 people being questioned. no one charged, yet.

I think it is interesting that they had a conversation with Fisk- "In an interview with police on May 4, Fisk admitted to taking some of Watson’s clothes to a friend’s home, the document said. Officers later found the red hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and black shoes at the friend’s home."

Then they search Vontrey Clark's home that weekend. Did something in that interrogation prompt the search warrant? I hope this comes to a close soon and the monsters are arrested.

This case stuck with me because Samantha was such a bright, hardworking woman.

I hope she gets the justice she deserves soon.

IMHO a TX jury has no problem making someone pay for a crime they commit (and in some cases, a crime they didn't commit!). I hope these low life's burn.

From oneficklegirl's link:

Aaron Lamont Williams is in jail in Bastrop County on a retaliation charge. He is accused of sending a death threat to another crisis counselor, a woman who works for the Austin Police Department.

That threat, sent via text message five days after Dean's death, reads in part, "I got her ... I'm coming for you. I'll show you what a crisis is."

From your link:

Police have identified 31-year-old Kevin Watson from Houston as a key suspect in the murder of Dean, 29. Watson is now in jail in Harris County on unrelated drug charges and is one of three people police linked to the case.

Court documents state Watson bought a cell phone from a Wal-Mart near Houston and texted Dean, luring her to the crime scene near Bastrop. Police used GPS data to place the phone near the scene.

A newly released autopsy report for Samantha Dean reveals hairs and fine fiber were found on her hands after she was shot and killed in February.

A June 2 final autopsy report, obtained by the Bastrop Advertiser on Wednesday through a Public Information Act request, states three hairs and a very fine fiber were collected from Dean’s hands and were introduced into evidence.

“On the right thumb is a very fine light fiber…” the report states. “… Three hairs are present on the left hand: a short slightly kinky hair is present stuck to the tip of the left thumb; a long straight dark hair is present between the 3rd and 4th fingers; a short straight hair is present on the tip of the 2nd finger.”

What if Vontrey Clark was suspended, not because they suspected him, but because they suspected someone he knows and they were afraid he would interfere with the investigation?

I wonder why they are keeping the name of the 3rd person arrested a secret. Could Clark have hired the killer or was there some reason for Williams to kill Samantha? At least things are moving toward solving this horrible murder.

Actually they have named all three. http://www.kvue.com/story/news/loca...tody-relating-to-samantha-dean-case/28379153/

Aaron Lamont Williams
Kyla Fisk
Kevin Watson

I also wonder if Clark, or his loved one, hired someone to kill Samantha. It seems like things should start progressing quickly.

Thanks, I got Watson and Williams confused. According to LE: Watson was the shooter and Williams sent the threatening texts to the other woman crisis counselor. Watson sent the luring texts to Dean. Still sounds like someone was getting paid to me. Maybe someone will start talking.

No new info I could readily find today. I think of her often, too.

FINALLY!! We have updates and it seems we were correct in suspecting Vontrey Clark. Samantha told her coworkers if anything happened to her, Clark was the suspect. Also, he admitted to a 6-7 year on/off relationship with Dean and had demanded that she have an abortion as the situation would ruin his life in regards to his current family. The article also claims that Clark spoke with Watson over the PS4 voice to chat regarding the case and ties Clark to everyone who has been arrested. Now to see how things unfold from here. I hope the end is near!
