So, why not get a copy of your court orders, go to the police station, get a police escort to lawfully gain back your child.

Her lawyers said she followed all of the correct legal steps. Getting a writ. Etc. It sounded like the Covid shutdown slowed the process and then they couldn’t find him to serve him, but I don’t know family law at all.

I already posted one above, please remove if that is not allowed. I’m not sure if this means I am sleuthing them, I am just trying to add to the conversation about custody/divorce.

Custody orders are usually distributed by attorneys in a custody case. If one party does not have an attorney it is delivered/mail to the last known address of the parents.

It becomes the responsibility of the parent "gaining" custody rights to locate the other parent with a correct address. The parent can return to court, with documentation, unable to locate child or other parent. It becomes the decision of the J&D judge as to the next step.

It is not the responsibility of LE to search for the parent or child, until a judge orders.

ETA...the custody was discussed by SOs mother attorney. The reverence to procedure is MOO...

Interesting new details of the day Sam was reported missing, bbm

7am - TB says cop and bio-mom show up
11:40 am: "According to court documents, the boy’s father said Balboa called him around 11:40 a.m. to tell him. Police say the father stated that once he heard this story, he contacted Samuel’s mother, who said that Samuel was not with her."

I think it all was coming to a head, as it eventually would, regardless of any court dates or birthdays. Eventually the family would want Samuel back! How long did she think she could keep up the charade? I'm honestly surprised she didn't disapppear long before May 27.

i have to agree... what was she doing for those 17 or so days? Just carrying on like normal, talking with DO like everything was fine?...at what point did she think she’d have to come up with a “solution” (such as running/disappearing)...she had to know she couldn’t hide the secret forever.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if DO was helping her pay rent or paying her to take care of Sam? That might explain why she let it draw out for so long?

Speculation, of course.

At this time please do not post documents that have not been published in MSM regarding DO and SO’s divorce. Neither parent has been charged in this case at this time. While we may discuss what they have said in MSM, we may not sleuth/post any docs relating to them. That is our policy as it stands now. If there are any changes to that we will let you know.

Also interesting is that this original incident occurred almost exactly one year ago, on 5/31/20.

Keep in mind, that is SO's birthday.

That’s a possibility, because I have to wonder why she would agree to take SO in the first place...but there’s also that glaring issue of her not wanting to getting caught. The best she could come up with was the cop story. Not that I think there are very many believable stories one could make up to get away with that..

at the very least, I’m glad her story was so flimsy that TM and LE were able to pick it apart relatively quickly.

Samuel’s mother’s attorneys did two press conferences addressing these things linked in prior thread. They stated that she was trying to take back possession of Samuel in her vehicle after months of being kept from him when the charges were brought against her. So yeah complicated, but unclear to me.

I just listened again to MG 6/2/21 linked through media thread. Maybe I missed it, but I did not hear him mention SO charge or upcoming trial. The only time he mentions anything that may have something to do with this incident is when he says SO last saw Samuel during summer 2020. could you link the other MG statement please.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Theresa Balboa, who is charged in connection to the death of 5-year-old Samuel Olson, has arrived at the Harris County Jail.

She was transferred from the Jasper County Jail early Friday morning.

A Jasper County Sheriff's Office vehicle arrived at the Harris County Jail around 6:30 a.m. It is presumed that Balboa was inside.
