Human remains found near Overlook Parkway (San Antonio Express-News)

The Bexar County Sheriff's Department has launched an investigation to identify human remains found Saturday evening on the city's far North Side.

A group of children found the remains while playing in their backyard in the 13000 block of Tanager Court.

"Behind their house is a creek," Roseanne Hughes, spokeswoman for Bexar County Sheriff's Office, said. "The kids were playing near the creek and found bones."

Investigators found clothing among the bones, Hughes said.

The Criminal Investigation Division is now investigating the discovery as a homicide.
