That's not all it said. There were no defensive wounds as well. And she was alone in her cell in a secure facility; the comings and goings of anyone into the cells was captured on camera.

Thousands of inmates in secure facilities 'alone in their cells' obtain illegal drugs, radios, cell phones, notes, sex, drawing materials, reading materials ect...ect...the list is longer than my arm.

Let's see the jail house video.

Are we sure she had a prior history of suicide. I know it said on the intake report that she did but could the report be doctored?
Her family didn't know she had tried to kill herself in the past and as far as I know none of her friends have said she had a past attempt.
She had cuts on her wrists (I think) Could those be from the handcuffs?
I don't think she was murdered but I do wonder if she died due to medical issues and they called it suicide for whatever reason.

I don't suppose that would fit with the jail video. It shows that she wasn't checked for a few hours and that would mean trouble for jail staff and administration if it were suicide. So probably not. Just thinking and typing at the same time. lol

This rant is totally unnecessary.

I didn't say that she had a prior history -- *she* said that she had one when she was incarcerated. And as a result, I think she required more care/attention rather than less. So if you're about to suggest that I don't think she has rights or that she matters, then you're dead wrong, and your suggestion is totally groundless and offensive.

Again, I ask you -- what evidence is there that she was murdered? There is a lot of evidence against it.

Stating my opinion is not a rant. I'm just able to very colorfully make my point.

Here's your post: Add to this that she has a prior and recent history of attempted suicide; ( you did NOT write that *she* said this). she should have been under a suicide watch. What makes you think that this was a homicide?

Pretty clearly right there you are stating she had a prior history. I copied and pasted your post exactly.

you then go on to say, "What makes you think this was a homicide?" In essence then saying she had a prior history, what makes you think this was a homicide? You are discounting the idea to even consider it because she had a prior history.

Again I say, simply because I am colorful in my replies does not mean they are RANTS.

I do agree with you on one point, she should have been on a suicide watch.

Answers have been highlighted in blue by me due to the length of the original post.

It seems to me that a big part of the disagreement here is that what some people see as aggressive behavior on her part, many of us see as assertive behavior. I thought much of his actions and statements were aggressive and/or sarcastic, but I saw hers as asserting her rights in the beginning and fear and confusion later. I could be seeing things that aren't there, but I don't think anything could convince me that she brought on the treatment she received by anything she said or did.

Very well said and I completely agree. I listened to her TONE and she is simply stating why she's upset, after all he ASKED her and she's telling him why she's upset.

She even reinforces that with him and says, you asked me why I'm upset.

Sure they are. Someone just posted: 'As long as you don't break the law it IS your right to be a jerk to cops' How embarrassing to think anyone has the right to be a jerk to a cop because they know he has to take it, a waitress because the main source of her income, a tip, is contingent on keeping you happy or a fast food worker who got your order wrong and doesn't want to get in trouble with their boss because they need the job. No one has the right to be a jerk to anyone else just because they can.

Thank You!
It's baffling and disturbing when I see these types of posts quoted by others.

If one chooses to be confrontational with a LEO, by all means go right ahead.
It is a choice.
In this case, the woman chose to do so, for no reason whatsoever.

She was not "baited" in the least, if it were me I would think that the officer was concerned when asking the questions.

For those who have yet to check it out, have a look see at her social media rants.
They are full of hateful, disrespectful, vile and spiteful rhetoric.
She was a self declared "activist".
What a slap in the face for those who truly want to see change that will benefit all of us.
All lives matter.

...And don't get me started with her arrests and fines.
...or that she never disclosed feeling suicidal at the time of her booking and incarceration.
...or that she was not bonded out, she was all talk about how she could not wait to go to court during the arrest, but not one person had $500.00 to bond her out? So much for her social media activist friends, and non existent attorney. I have many more "or's", but I feel it's useless to include them, as there are those who feel that the LEO in this case is at fault for all of her self destructive behavior.

I feel sorry for her family and friends.
I feel badly that she was mentally ill and may have self medicated.
I feel very sorry she chose suicide.

She could have chosen proper treatment for depression.
Depression can be managed. There is hope.

I'm thinking when he ran her plates, he saw the MJ convictions. He may have been trying to see if she was intoxicated or had MJ in the car. I think that is why he wanted her out of the car. However, he didn't say that to her. He didn't give her a reason. The other car he stopped was on a busier stretch and he didn't ask the other driver to get out of the car.

Jumping off your post... Honestly, we don't know if the prev driver had been out of her car prior or not. The video begins, as Trooper BE is going back to her car to give her the Warning Ticket. We have no knowledge from the video we have, what happened before that. JMHO from watching the dashcam video.

She was belligerent because she had a significant amount of dope in her system and she was afraid of being found out no one gets that out of control over a warning..,

The Trooper was very courteous and polite on initial contact . God Bless him for getting an intoxicated driver off our highways and saving lives .

I think I was being generous to them with that number. As a group, I have never met any people who are as rude and obnoxious as cops. At least the American cops I have met in the last 30 years. They are just the most horrible human beings, I have ever met. They are nothing but power tripping bully ****s, who simply want to make other people's lives a living hell, and they are good at it.

And...here we have it.

For every man and woman who has ever served or is serving as an LEO...

Those that have saved lives, given life, put themselves in the center of the bull's-eye, rescued a dog, held the hand of a dying person, cried over the loss of a missing child, never gave up searching for a missing person, investigated and helped prosecute a deranged, vicious murderer, talked a suicidal person down from a bridge, gave courage and strength to rape victims to testify, inspired a young person to dedicate their lives to risk their own, died in the line of duty and a million more reasons for the things that you do...

I say to you, I am sorry that the words above mine were ever composed and posted.

I usually cry while reading missing, abused, murdered children threads.

This was the exception.

I do not want to look at any quotes , r. but it is my impression that her death is not mourned, but rather justifications are found for the LE behavior and snarking on her behavio
r
I have an FB post that she asked 14 times why she was being arrested. Is that true?

And if LE stopped me and I gave them the required paperwork, I would be a wreck because as much as I try to organize, I put things in a safe order and then cannot remember what the safe place was.

She may have thought she gave him her license as I am sure a thousand things were going through her mind.

Right now, I am not exactly sure where my proof of insurance is in the multiple places in my wallet. I have the cab card in my glove compartment, but in what? With my car manuals? My receipts for car repairs or with my First Aid Kit? What did I decide months ago?

Respectfully BBM, I sympathize for anyone who has lost a loved one, be it a family member or friend. But I personally do not mourn for SB, I didn't know her or any of the cases on Web Sleuths. I try not to get emotional in the cases. Doesn't mean I don't care. I am interested and want to see the full case. Where ever it leads. I do not participate at WS to change anyone's opinion but I do try to personally be open minded enough to having my opinion revisited when shown facts that differ. Facts don't change, opinions do.

I haven't seen much of anything in ref to Trooper BE, I did post something about referencing him, people were going to protest in front of his alleged apartment building. I feel that is wrong, so many innocent people around. Or could be like in other cases where it is said to be his and not truly his.

I am at WS, to sleuth the case, all aspects of it. Respectfully and within TOS. jmho

Empathy vs Sympathy
When you understand and feel another’s feelings for yourself, you have empathy. It’s often spoken of as a character attribute that people have to varying degrees. For example, if hearing a tragic news story makes you feel almost as if the story concerns you personally, you have the ability to empathize.

When you sympathize with someone, you have compassion for that person, but you don’t necessarily feel her feelings. For instance, if your feelings toward someone who is experiencing hardship are limited to sympathy, then you might have a sense of regret for that person’s difficulty but are not feeling her feelings as if they’re your own. http://grammarist.com/usage/empathy-sympathy/

No, there is no evidence that she was murdered but there is enough inconsistencies and funny business to warrant a full independent investigation unto what happened. JMO

My opinion on the jail is we are speaking of the whole suicide paperwork because SB actually did commit suicide. I don't know their protocol as to who goes to suicide watch and what makes the call to go. If she had not committed suicide, and not on suicide watch, would this be an issue? Hindsight is 20/20. Evidently the State found them not in compliance, but again, is it because of the actual suicide or would it have been addressed in an audit?

I am not trying to be sarcastic in any way. I do feel it was tragic whatever reason SB felt to take her own life. I also feel she being in jail to begin with she has ownership of the situation that led to her being there to begin with.

Loss of life is loss of life and nothing to be happy about, no matter who it is or how. Every human has someone who cared about them to some extent or another. JMHO

Speaking of this. I only saw a short clip of the jail camera. Have they shown any video of her entering the cell? Any video of her at all at the jailhouse?

Brian Encinia’s Career As A State Trooper Is Fairly New
Encinia ventured into police work after a career in agriculture. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2008 with his bachelor’s in agricultural leadership and development. After working as an ingredient processing supervisor at Blue Bell Creameries for six years (2008-2014) he worked as a chief in the Brenham Fire Department from 2009 to 2013.
He began working for the Department of Public Safety in Waller County as a state trooper and has held the position for a little over a year.

Preliminary Investigation Revealed Encinia Violated “Courtesy” Protocols
Texas Department of Public Safety officials informed reporters this week that Encinia violated several traffic stop and courtesy protocols. A DPS spokesman didn’t state what exactly the officer did wrong, but legal experts claim his alleged abrasive behavior could be a factor.

Encinia’s Digital Presence Has Vanished
It isn’t known if Encinia had a social media presence, but his LinkedIn page was deleted after his name was announced to the public. Bland’s videos discussing her past troubles with PTSD and tweets on the “Black Lives Matter” movement, on the other hand, are still present on the internet.

Encinia Is Currently On Administrative Leave

Encinia is on administrative duty until the investigation is complete. The FBI is currently working with Texas Rangers on the case after Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston labeled Bland’s death a suicide. Her family has hired an independent medical examiner; that autopsy is scheduled to release results in the next few days.

Texas police have released video taken from inside the county jail during the last minutes of Sandra Bland’s life as activists claimed that the traffic stop that led to her imprisonment escalated into a confrontation because a trooper was angry that she was smoking.

The footage is three hours long but does not provide a clear view of cell 95 at the Waller county jail, where officials say the 28-year-old was found hanged on 13 July, three days after she was arrested for alleged assault on a public servant.

If this was a 'police state' there would not have been 53 people shot in gang shooting in Chicago last 4th of July weekend. :cop:

:facepalm:You clearly have no idea what "police state" means. Hint: it has nothing to do with gang shootings.

police state
noun
1.
a nation in which the police, especially a secret police, summarily suppresses any social, economic, or political act that conflicts with governmental policy.

Exactly, it was so simple. All he had to do was swallow his pride, say, "Here is your citation. Have a nice day" and walk away. But instead he had to turn it into a federal case, and now a woman is dead and tax payers are out at least a million dollars.

Respectfully BBM, dead because she committed suicide. Per Official Autopsy Report. Family has not proven otherwise, as far as I know, they havent released their Independent Autopsy Report.
