Awesome work being done! I live not far from here in the Helotes area so stopped in to see if progress was being made.

I am thoroughly impressed and inspired by the awesome job you're doing for this young lady AdysMom7610! I hope you don't mind, but I did a tiny bit of tinkering with the initial sketch of Schertz Jane Doe. I just worked on the symmetry a little bit. Hope that it helps. Once again, you're very inspiring!

Visited our girl today. So sad how there is literally nothing that marks her as being buried there. It looked like an empty plot. I made a vase with flowers and a ribbon that said "unknown female (heart) April 3,1987 (heart)

You are sweet but I didn't do anything y'all wouldn't have done.
I'm still waiting on the detective to call me back with info on the crime scene photos. I called yesterday and today and will call again tomorrow. I'll call until I get an answer. She deserves it.

I've found this map of the area from 1985. The arrow on the top is where her body was found. The arrow on the bottom is where she supposedly was at and died. IMG_3798.jpg

Here is the uncropped pic (was hoping to get a better image of her hair) but get a sense that she was loved and cared for from that pic. Nice teeth as well. The timeline works. It can take a long time for some people to self-destruct and fall through the cracks.

The eyebrows! eyes and nose are very compelling. Geographic are good. I wish we knew more about her. Definitely should pursue Gloria. IMO

Nice find Addysmom.

Thanks. I've contacted the family just to ask for specifics on her disappearance and also to answer some vital questions such as
-were her ears pierced?
-did she have any tats or scars?
-did she have any fillings or wisdom teeth still?
Those answers will help me a lot in either X'ing Gloria or really pursuing her.
Not gonna lie, I'm excited

We are in the process of getting Gloria in NamUs but I do not think it's going to be her. Her ears were definitely pierced and this Jane Doe's weren't. That's not the only reason i don't think it's her. There are others. Nonetheless, we will get her in the system and get this Jane does DNA in the system (because I've found out it was never in there) and see what happens.
I found where her body was dumped. It was in a drainage ditch right off he access road. Here are some pics. IMG_3808.jpgIMG_3810.jpg

The overgrowth and guard rail were not there back in 87 when she was found. I've spoken to one of the witnesses who found her.

Did the witness add anything that was compelling? 30 years is a long time to remember...and forget. But then again, would you ever forget finding somebody who was deceased?

My son was born in 1987 in Travis County. I lived way outside of Austin and was planning a home birth with a midwife. I do remember that it rained and rained and rained and rained that spring, I was concerned about her being able to get up our very long private road, it had several muddy washouts. Not sure the rain has any bearing on our Doe's story, but I do remember it was an exceptionally wet spring.

It was an exceptionally cold spring here. I've got the farmers almanac for the four days before she was found and there was no rain reported at all. Of course that doesn't mean the condensation wasn't present but I'm not sure if it had any affect on her decomp.
The witness only reported remembering that she was laying face down, which we already knew. So no, there was really nothing useful that she could give me.

That's too bad about the witness, now you know. It's amazing you found them and they were willing to discuss our Doe.

My bad, you are correct. It was a wet May and June (over 18 inches average down in Comal, Bexar, Guadalupe) but April was pretty dry.
