I've made a reconstruction for this Jane Doe since her current one is so basic.
Notes:
Eye and hair color are best guesses
There were no specific descriptions for her sweatshirt or earrings, I just chose generic HD earrings and a generic red sweatshirt

We're at 20 rule out's now, June Gilkerson, Vernette Wester, Brenda Allen-Szabo, and Amy Yachimec added since the last list was posted in 2018.

Julia Salucka has not been mentioned here previously. She went missing November 16, 1986 From KC, MO so not quite 2 months prior to when UID was found.

She was reported to be 5’4” and had light brown to strawberry blond hair. Her ears were pierced and she was wearing a black leather jacket and a pink sweatshirt. The information aligns somewhat with the unidentified except differing color of sweatshirt.

Julia’s eyebrows, nose, lips and the area between her nose and lips look similar to Victoria’s recon. I may be over analyzing these features but am also curious about the oval necklace Julia is wearing in her photo. I am unable to adjust or zoom for decent viewing but you can see it in her NamUs photo. UID was wearing a necklace bearing a charm with a tan oval stone.

Does anyone know if there are photos of the jewelry JD was wearing or if anyone has obtained the case file?

I never say the jewelry. Looked for it, but nothing. The earrings might have been something like this. (red and gold) But it's hard to imagine what the jewelry exactly looked like.

Jewelry
Harley Davidson earrings, red and gold. White metal ring with a silver and turquoise stone in the shape of an eagle on right index finger. White metal ring in the shape of a belt loop on left ring finger. Yellow metal bracelet with six red and blue stars on left wrist. Necklace bearing a charm with a tan oval stone. Necklace
bearing a unicorn charm

I think the blue/red stars bracelet is also pointing towards Harley Davidson/American flag.

I imagine the ring in the shape of an eagle is something like this

Below is the oval necklace I was referencing. Julie is wearing this in her photo as shown in NamUs. You can’t see it very well but I was curious about the one UID had, necklace bearing a charm with a tan oval stone.

I do not know when this was added, but this UID's namus says: "Recent FIGG studies strongly suggest that decedent is Catherine Neely with possible relatives in the Boise, Idaho area." Can anyone find anything?

I guess they have a tentative ID. I can't find much on anyone with that specific name, although there are a few Kathy Neelys.

Not sure when it was removed but her Namus no longer mentions anything about Neely. Same amount of rule out's.

Her NamUs page has been removed.

Hi everyone
We have approved sources we use when it comes to identifying people.
If Namus, law enforcement, or other government or approved agencies confirm that someone has been identified, then we mark this thread as identified.
We are partnered with Othram Labs. Here is the announcement in case anyone missed it.

Namus is down, but we don't have a confirmed identity. It appears there is a post by a site called intermountain forensics that say she has been identified. According to the post by Tricia above, there needs to be LE confirmation and/or Orthram/Government approved agency. This makes sense on so many levels, especially for family and possible ongoing investigations. Hoping for an LE announcement. Thanks for the reminder, Tricia!

But Intermountain Forensics was one of the IGG providers that did the case work? They’re well-established as a company and their work has been mentioned on other threads with no issue (like this thread here: AZ - Tucson, John Doe, #UP7195, Blue Paint John Doe, May 1987, DNA- Kenneth Dreux Spuller, 36, 2025. Should this thread be deleted because they’re the only source?) Why can DNASolves or the DNA Doe Project website be used as sources for the work of their own organizations but not this one? There’s no logic in this decision and there 100% is a confirmed identity.

The person was even mentioned in the NamUs description because she had been suggested as a potential candidate through the IGG work done by Intermountain Forensics and DNAhawkshaw (another company that did the work and also has confirmed this publicly), so the relevant authorities clearly trust their work and it meets the “government-approved” condition.

Whoa, I didn't say anything bad about them. They are accredited and they do great work! I looked at their site and saw several UID that have been identified.

I am guessing because Law Enforcement has NOT made an official announcement, we wait. I certainly am not an expert, and most of us are not either, however, I am going to guess there is a legal and industry standard pathway to to formally declare someone as identified? A series of check boxes, per se. Perhaps there is a criminal investigation we are unaware of, or family disagreeing to publicly share the identity? Maybe one family member says yes, but others say no. There is a family with incredibly painful, difficult, emotions behind cases like this. We don't know. So once LE announces, then Webslueths posts her as identified.

There aren't any news articles about her identification.

I have managed to find proof of her identification as Catherine Neely from the investigating agency. She is listed on the Pima County Medical Examiner website as ML87-0036. Her cause of death was accidental probable acute cocaine intoxication.
