A frantic search is underway for a baby who turned up missing after a woman was found dead in the Greenspoint area Tuesday afternoon.

Homicide detectives say the woman had been stabbed several times.

The dead woman and one-month-old baby girl lived in an apartment complex on Goodson Road in northeast Houston.

Residents say crime is an ongoing problem there.

Amber Alert issued. Father of baby is a suspect and is wanted. They have identification of car as 2000 Blue Toyota Celica with a black hood with Texas license plate #CM7-L340.
