" He said his attorney told him to leave the state or else he would not be able to bury his family, to get a burner phone and that if he did not plates on his car he would not get pulled over, according to police documents. "

Wonder what this - his stmt allegedly repeating what his atty told him - means in term of atty-client privilege and whether he will try to assert it later?

If the ^ was actually his atty's advice to him, seems, well, er, um, a bit unorthodox.

Does anyone else detect a hint of 'sovereign citizen' flavor here? IDK.

I wish it were not too late to delete my post 399. I started that earlier, and came back to it...SORRY! Maggoty mouthed heathen should fry.

No! Don't beat yourself up over it. Sometimes things move at a snail's pace in which too many dead horses are beaten to death (Deorr Kunz). Others move quickly. I *try* to catch up on the threads before posting but sometimes a post catches my eye and I have to respond before fully catching up. For the record, before Craig was arrested, I opined that I could see certain scenarios in which I thought it might be wise for an innocent spouse to seek attorney counsel. I'm seriously doubted in his innocence now, but under the TOS at the time, we did the best we could.

Anyone know if "white Hyundai"* that he was arrested in in CO, is/was registered to him and/or wife? Or a rental?
Did I miss MSM stmt re which state designation the plate had? TX? CO? Other?
TIA.

* mentioned in http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crim...n-arrested-colorado-wife-infant-sons-slayings

This article is the most comprehensive, in that it includes the actual affidavit. http://www.wfaa.com/news/man-jailed-in-colorado-in-fort-worth-slayings-of-wife-infant-son/376887460

The rear license plate was from Texas, according to the affidavit.

Don't know it the Hyundai was a rental, but I bet it was (or else it was SV's car). CV reportedly drove a truck which was still at the house in Fort Worth when LE broke down the door to execute the search warrant.

he was obviously acting strangely if someone actually called 911 after an interaction w him..

I am thinking he might be setting up his 'mental health' defense strategy.

I see from @liltexans' post #392 that the Hyundai was, in fact, Shanna's.

That just really pisses me off.

Does his stmt below make any geographic sense?
FtW TX would be the address on his TX DL, which the Glenwood Spgs CO LE saw.
G/Spgs is on I-70 in western CO.

He told G/Spgs LE burial will be in CO*. Okay, but where in CO? In location west or north of G/Spgs? If not, how could he be driving to burial? Seems like leaving from FtW, he would have driven past metro Denver where some fam lives (IIRC). Also would have driven past Weld County r turn-offs for Weld Co. That's where their house was, recently sold.

But he also said he was heading to Las Vegas (sorry no link), so being in G/Spgs & continuing west on I-70 does make 'geographic sense' in a way.
Any thoughts? Other thoughts? TIA.

{ETA: not that we should expect his actions to make sense}

I don't believe that CV was going to the funeral.

All evidence points to CV making a run for it, IMO.

Vegas? Why not. Wouldn't be surprising if he wanted to hit Sin City while he was a free man.

Me too. My neighbor works there.

Actually he worked at the South fort Worth store, I worked there as well. This is just absolutely horrendous.

  • #431
all those guns he had, could he have ripped off the wrong people? loan sharks mob etc?

Welcome CITC1.

Is that the store on Overton Ridge Blvd?

Do you know what position he held?

Thank you, in advance.

I am thinking he might be setting up his 'mental health' defense strategy.

People often think this after crimes, but there are really very few cases where anyone actually pleads insanity.

Don't fret. I'm always the one to give the benefit of the doubt. We don't truly know until we know.

This may have been stated, and I understand chiming in while catching up on previous posts, but he has been arrested.

Yes, I posted earlier that I would have deleted post 399, but couldn't, so plz, disregard!

bbm - Was he waiting for this?
Thank you! Does it say if the joint tenancy was husband/wife or one party and perhaps a line for loan on property?

This is very interesting info you dug up. Highly suspicious IMO being only a week from her murder.

I know we were taught in nursing school, everybody handles grief differently. With all the guns and ammo, maybe he was planning on a shootout, suicide by cops? Or, he could have been contemplating suicide, and killed them because he would not be there to take care of them.

I think he might have been planning to hide out in the Nevada desert or Mexico. Possibly preparing for a shoot out when found rather than go to prison for life.

And a successful insanity plea will only secure a reservation in a prison for the criminally insane - hardly an improvement.
