It looks like it just fell flat from the sky.

Witnesses reported seeing it fly past 300-400 feet from the ground and hearing the engine cut off.

I know everybody who passes “lit up a room” and gets an instant halo, but the pilot, Jeffrey Weiss, was apparently a really good guy. He regularly participated in Angel Flights, flying people for free in need of medical or humanitarian help. Very sad for all involved and their families.
