TX TX - Sophia Felecita Moreno, 16, Bryan, 11 May 1979

  • #21
Sophia keeps popping up on my searches for this girl:

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/252ufnj.html (FYI - Says DNA Available)

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/1772 (FYI - Says DNA Not Available)

Does anyone know what the husband did for a living or if she ever traveled to NYC area?

The Doe's pants were 'unusual' so I'm wondering if they may have been from Mexico.

Postmortem timeline is off. Doe's period says "years". Doe's hair was lightened.

Could this be Sophia? http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/543uftx.html

The age matches, as does the height, the timeline and the area she was found in. I'm not sure about the red/auburn hair, but I did notice the similar hairstyle in the composite, which could of course be a coincidence.

I sent an email about her and got a response that CODIS ruled out this Jane Doe. I kind of figured, but I don't understand why she isn't on the rule out list. Does anyone know why that is?

I remember reading that a few girls had been abducted from the Bryan/College Station area and dumped in the Sam Houston park/forrest area. I think its more likely her husband had something to do with her disappearance.

I have the impression that the husband was entirely to blame here... he took her away and murdered her... but the question is... why was she married so young? Did she make her pregnant? Were they already parents? what really happened? I hope that one day we will know what happened to her...
either way
rest in peace
