I'm wondering if this person was from Mexico? Maybe his family doesn't know he has passed. I'm not finding anything on NamUs that might match.

Is there an active link anywhere of his complete "file" - like an official page? I looked at NamUs and Texas DPS site and couldn't find him. (The link in the OP is dead and I can't see pictures on the article in the 2nd post)

Interesting read on the TAG program. Could the article be referring to this UID as already being identified?

A contributor from U.S. Customs and Border Protection submitted a photo in January 2017 depicting tattoos on the body of an unidentified deceased male recovered near the U.S.-Mexico border (figure 2a). TAG analysis located strikingly similar images of a scorpion and of prominent Mexican Revolution general Francisco “Pancho” Villa (figure 2b). Because they are fairly nondescript, the subjects of these tattoos may have been overlooked or misidentified without the help of the FBI’s TAG team. Using the intelligence provided by TAG, the Missing Migrants Initiative Office of the U.S. Border Patrol distributed flyers with detailed information surrounding the tattoos and their significance. Soon after, a relative of the deceased migrant came forward and identified his body, providing the family with closure.

@Caring1 Now that is some impressive sleuthing - daaang!! Date, location, two tattoos and their anatomical locations match. How in the heck did you do that?

That's a super interesting read. I want to work there!

annemc2 This would certainly be an interesting profession, right? I had not heard or seen anything previously about this program but since they accept requests from LE agencies, I don’t see why we couldn’t reach out to the investigating agency and ask them to submit a request as there are so many UID’s that are possible migrants. I have a few listed from AZ and TX found in the U.S. just over the border where some have identifiable tattoos or other characteristics.

Thank you for your post. It sure does look like the match was already made for this UID :D
