I remember how in the Columbine, when all the lawsuit were settled and we finally could read all about the case, I was shocked at the horrible style of the school. At its administration. How the principal and the teachers supported the jocks, how Harris and Klebold were bullied by the schoolmates (it even got on one of their videos), how they were once squirted with tomato sauce and had to walk around like this till the end of the school day.

And much as their horrible recoil landed on people who were not at fault (everyone later said that had they killed the jocks, especially one, they’d be understood), I was thinking, everyone snaps at the end.

Doesn’t what happened to Simpkins sound like a deja vu?

Hadn’t the time come to look at the administration of the Timberview HS and their role in creating the bullying, unhealthy, school atmosphere?

After all, we send out kids to school to be educated, not beaten up, bullied or robbed.

The book “Columbine” dispels the story of the Columbine killer’s being bullied, etc.; Those type reports that came out initially turned out to be incorrect.
Harris was a psychopath and Klebold was depressed and a willing participant.
I highly recommend the book, but it is very disturbing.

I read their diaries, and about six books with such name.

About bullying in the Columbine school, here is what one popular girl told. She was not rich, not of ethnic majority in the school, but exceptionally beautiful, this is why she was accepted into the jock group. One day, during a break, their well-known wrestler took a megaphone from the coach and started commenting, “here goes such-and-such, she was close to such-and-such football player, and this one, and that one, too”. Her name. She felt dead, she said. It continued until the coach did not take the megaphone away.

These were the “traditions” of the school. If even a rather popular girl was subjected to such humiliation, what can one say about two nerdish boys? And the adults went along with the kids, this is the problem. BTW, the story about H and K being squirted with ketchup is repeated by many, and people shoving them in hallways is in one of their films. Like the beating Simkins got is on the video, and it was in school.

BTW - it doesn’t negate mental illness in Harris and Klebold. However - the school atmosphere was not healthy. After that, anti-bullying campaign in schools started, but the schools are different in enforcing it.

Timberview High School shooting suspect arrested again

Court records show 18-year-old Timothy Simpkins was arrested Thursday for a bond violation. He reportedly failed a drug - alcohol test.

Just reading some of the previous posts and would like to point out that Simpkins lawyers went with a self-defense argument. There was no evidence of bullying presented during trial.

During the sentencing phase, prosecutors revealed new, damning evidence about Simpkins shooting at someone days before the school shooting and that he was dealing drugs.

It is the high-risk activity the Arlington police chief said back in 2021 was at the root of the school shooting, not bullying like the shooter's family tried to claim.

Prosecutors showed video they said was Simpkins shooting at an escaping car at an Arlington gas station after Simpkins had just let the other driver into his car, but was pistol-whipped and robbed by the guy.

It's not the kind of robbery reported to authorities.

"He was robbed at a RaceTrac. Somebody pistol-whipped him, he then gets out of his car and shoots at them about eight times," prosecutor Lloyd Whelchel said.

Prosecutors said 10 days before the school shooting, Simpkins met up with someone at an Arlington RaceTrac gas station, let them into his car, and was then robbed and pistol-whipped by that person.

The state said the surveillance video shows Simpkins get out of his Dodge Charger and shoot at the escaping car at least eight times.

"So he is carrying that gun for one reason, so he won’t get robbed again or beat, because that’s what he is, a drug dealer," Whelchel said.

The state focused heavily on Simpkins' high-risk behavior.

Prosecution asked for life. Clever cross closing argument. The defendant researched how much time one would get for a shooting and prosecution points out that whatever he found was not enough to deter him.

Prosecution: When the next shooter decides to research how much time they might get for a shooting what's the answer going to be? Because you might deter another shooting...if you give the right answer and you give enough.
