Report No: 80192785
Victim: Sylvia Hynes, 27 year-old black female
Location: 1700 E Lancaster Ave
On June 12, 1980, officers were dispatched to 1800 E. Lancaster Avenue. They found Sylvia Hynes critically injured. An employee from a local company reported the following: an older model, blue-in-color van was traveling westbound at 1700 E. Lancaster Avenue. The front passenger door of the van opened and Sylvia Hynes was apparently pushed out of the vehicle, and fell on to the pavement. The van and its occupants fled the scene. Sylvia Hynes died at the hospital, due to trauma to the head.
- Apparently Fort Worth Cold Case unit only has one detective and when reporters reached out to her about another cold case, she never responded. Also, the Fort Worth site with cold cases and info has dozens of profiles but very little info and almost no photos of victims. Should volunteers offer support to the unit? Like helping to create more detailed case profiles, locating pictures of victims, etc.?
