About 80 students at a charter school in San Angelo, TX were forced to do pushups continuously for at least 45 minutes, and some of them may have permanent health issues as a result. The story does not say how old the kids were, or their gender(s) but I'm guessing they were teenage boys.

This is wild! What were these teachers/coaches thinking?? It's one thing to require kids to work hard and push themselves a little bit, but this is just so beyond anything that could be considered reaasonable. Rhabdomyolysis is serious and sometimes it can happen randomly when someone just works out hard and not always when something is excessive, but if multipe children are getting Rhabdo really explains just how excessive this was.

This source explains the problem: a jersey number mix-up caused by the coaches themselves.

Really.
