My daughter bought new home few years back. I saw photos from realtor. When I went to see first time I was shocked! Insert foot moment  I said this isn't as big as photos show. It a huge room, but what happened is they take photos from a corner area! It gives an illusion. Same with the video and various photos we have seen. Jmho

It’s like people that take great selfies at angles that compliment them very well and then they look quite different in person. The magic of a camera angle can do many things.

Really? I could have swore to you that I heard it on a national news channel in the first few days when it made national news. I’ve never taken anything on fb as confirmed info. And I rarely use twitter. Maybe when I heard it, whatever channel I was watching at the time misconstrued info. I don’t know. Glad to know now though.

What was never stated by the police? I am so lost.

Please do not be discussing aspects of this case as fact if they are nothing but rumor. That will get this discussion shut down quicker than anything.

Explain to me what you are referring to here MittenScarpetta, please.

RBBM who would the suspect keep lying to? So far they seem to have covered their tracks so far. We don't know they are lying to anyone. I do hope suspect is rattled though.

They could be lying to anyone in their life mimi, as stated before and now, JMO

I believe I’m the first one who brought the Cosplay theory up. I believe he’s a gamer and a wanna be cop.

Thanks, Boudy. Oh, my! There are Cosplayers worldwide! They have their own website for photos and a forum for discussions. They attend worldwide festivals. I had no idea this culture existed. The costumes are rather elaborate and more fantasizing than a SP covered head to toe.

After spending a few minutes on the website, I've decided I'd like to be Link from Zelda, of course. I loved playing Zelda so much. It took months for me to reach the end yet I loved every moment spent.

I did not see any police costumes nor a subforum for role playing a police officer but maybe I just didn't linger long enough.

Is it fair to say your theory is that a person dressed in Police Gear to pretend to be a Police Officer? Was this person there to save the day? As in, save Missy from a killer? I'm trying to understand how a Cosplay Cop morphed into a brutal murder of a mother.

It is indeed a fascinating topic. Are there more thoughts you can add to make the pieces fit with Missy's murder?

That is the ladies room door seeing. It's an illusion Jethro.
Yes. That is the ladies room door as it appears the one from the photo Cannonball provided is the mens room. But I have reservations as to whether the fountain was there at the time Missy was killed or whether that area has changed since then.

There’s a video game called Resident Evil. The security company in this game is called Umbrella Corporation and they dress like SWAT police. Google image it.

I was thinking....the church had outdoor cameras (not working) but was there also an alarm?

If there had been an alarm, it obviously wasn't"t working as MB entered without having to shut anything off.

So, it must have been fairly well known that there were no alarms on the door.

I know it was suggested that the driver of the Altima may have breached the doors at the church and then drove to SWFA"s parking lot to wait and see if police arrived at the church.

Does anyone know if the church had alarms or had them in the past?

LE stated there was no permit on file for an alarm for that church.

I wonder if that was common knowledge?

Good input.

Interesting observation, that if SP was hiding in a panic, all things being equal, they’re going to dive into their gender-appropriate bathroom. Natural response with 20-60 years of conditioning.
I think there’s a lot of information to glean from strike patterns. i.e. if SP was able to get ina single debilitating blow, I’d lean heavy toward a planned attack. Were the blows to the chest intended to debilitate or disfigure. How much overkill. It seems like as time elapses, the chasm between our amount of data/information and LE widens.

It would be possessed knowledge if you were a long time member of the church and interested in such things as alarms and CCTV positions. The Church probably had to spend a good deal of money to install alarms after the murder in order to make their congregation feel safer.

So why does it take so long for justice to unfold. I’ve been looking at similar cases recently and seeing if we can glean anything from them. One that I had followed for a couple years was a murder in Colleyville. Colleyville has a few similaritiesto Midlothian. Both have about 25Kpeople, they’re both about a half hour from Dallas. Neither has much violent crime (last murderwas 23 years ago).

In 2014, a lady working by herself was killed while working in a nice house, in an upscale neighborhood. With no obvious motive. She wasa 69-year-old housekeeper, kids and all. The description said, “Cops found a crime scene that produced more questions than answers. The detective said it appears Anita Fox (the victim) walked right into a trap. “It was obvious that she had been targeted for some reason. There did not appear to be an obvious motive for murder.” She had been brutally stabbed to death.

The plant-watering lady discovered the body. She gave police a pretty detailed description of the suspect running from the house and his vehicle to the 911 operator.
They had a very accurate sketch.

Without re-telling the whole story. The victim was a part of the English Travellers group. They’re frequently called gypsies. And the group had begun venturing beyond asphalt and roof scams and delving into life insurance frauds. The housekeeper who lived in a trailer had been tanked up with 5 life insurance policies, totaling $5million. Police initially honed on her son. But it turned out that her son-in-law was the beneficiary of most of the policies. The son-in-law could no longer pay the premiums so he went back to the agent that sold him the policy and they found another Traveller to pay half of it for being a half beneficiary.

And that’s where the story goes sideways. The new co-beneficiary grew tired of makingthe payments and wondering how long she’d live. And so he stalked her, figured out the bestplace to take her out and with his son driving, he committed murder. Interestingly, when the cops broke into his hotel room to arrest him he had deceased from a massive heart attack. His son was sentenced to 14 years this past year for his part in the crime.

Lessons to learn.

1. Look everywhere. I had written off the Gamertheory but obviously strange things do happen.

2. The standard motivations of money, revenge, sex usually are not far away.
3. LE often doesn’tmove fast. They had witnesses, a huge red flag, and got lucky spotting a truck that the witness had nailed the descriptionon. And it still took years to put the accomplice away.

Speaking of insurance and security... I wonder if MB family sued CCoC or CG over the murder? Doing a search once came across an attorney affiliated with church, had it listed in his bio is why it came up on search. Just something always curious about.

** We can't discuss life insurance, I am talking about civil suit. May not be able to until Suspect arrested? But what if it years? More than the coming up 2 yrs. Unsure on statute of limitations. Or if a clause of some kind keeps one from suing, but I would think looked at. I know I would.

Were the front entrance doors (facing West) the push bar type from the inside? Meaning, to get out (or let someone else in) all you have to do is push the bar from the inside and the door opens.

I was just thinking about some of you saying that you didn’t think this crime wasn’t a burglary gone bad. Well what about the mysterious white box? As far as we know that box was never recovered. What if it did have money in it?

I believe that thing to be one of these guys: magnetic door lock
This is interesting bernst. Why do you think SP would have torn off a door magnet and carried it around?

Here's some Wild Speculation on my part:

We know that LE has stated that only this particular subject (SP) is seen on video. We also know that LE stated the murder does not appear on video and SP is not seen leaving the premises.

I've noticed that many of you (me too) get a certain "feel" about the SP and his behavior/movements on camera. Nonchalant, strolling, meandering, casual, killing time, "puttering" around. And I agree. The way he slides his fingers down the wall when walking even suggests a playful demeanor.

What if SP is really just a decoy, a distraction from the actual murder itself? Maybe his job was to provide compelling visual evidence that sends us down the wrong rabbit hole. Or maybe his job was to make sure MB was in a certain area so the crime could be committed off camera.

Think about it, what better way to confuse the situation and get LE chasing red herrings? I mentioned it in an earlier thread, and its possible I'm missing an important factor, or just not reading carefully, but. . .

If SP can exit off-camera, couldn't someone else enter off-camera? And could that someone else possibly be the one who attacked MB?

MOO
OMG drama_farmer! Sorry, I didn't realize you had already mentioned this when I wrote essentially the same thing a few days ago. And I agree with your points. Another term? Bait and Switch.

Do we have any info on the 911 call or who found the body? Didn’t some of the campers speak out in the beginning to tell what they saw? It’s been so long ago, I can’t remember if I read that here or somewhere else. Helpful information to those of us here who are 2 steps behind LE. They (LE) have the info on where she was found, if the killer was seen after the murder and the camera location information. That is all stuff we spend tons of time speculating over which could help us move on to other aspects. IMHO
