you think the killer still keeps the ( outfit ) or has disposed of it ?

I think the killer has kept at least part of the outfit. In fact, I think that might be how he is finally connected to the murder: at some point in the future, he will be discovered with a trove of "swat-looking gear" by law enforcement - either by being pulled over or in another burglary event. He may change it a bit but the basic components of it would remain. My own opinions.

Why would you keep things, maybe in your barn or buried on your property? For another thrill or because you don't know a more safe place to dispose of it? How might killers tick??

Because i believe at the heart of this we have someone who likes breaking into places that are low risk (empty church, middle of the night) in a disguise to roam around. I think this person will do it again if they haven't already. My opinion only.

To me it's way too much of a stretch to decide on any "pattern" or "preference" or "likes" of this perp, based on a series and sample size of 1. To know which are the perp's common (and therefore, his preferred) choices, I think we'd need to be able to look at several crimes by the same person, and observe what is being repeated.

Do you think the perp just happened to — randomly for a thrill — break into a church where a woman coincidentally held a pre-dawn workout and brutally murdered her because she stumbled upon them?

No, if you are asking me.:)

yes, this is exactly what i think. You can track my past comments for years in these threads.... I really do feel like this is a guy, a burglar/joyriding weirdo who thought he had all the time in the world to roam and creep around a church. I think he has this type of equipment laying around, works a late shift and for years has seen this building in the dark off the highway. I think there's no connection to Missy at all - which is why a suspect has so far (seemingly) evaded LE. I'm like 85% in this camp. The equipment could be due to paintball, previous law enforcement work, martial arts, "militia-style" social memberships. Way back I described how I envisioned the moments between Missy unlocking the door and her students finding her dead/dying on the floor.
But that still leaves 15% of me that considers a targeted murder fitting.

All my opinions. I wish we could get a few new facts to chew on.

I am still stuck on targeted, just seems so much effort to get together all that kit and then wear it to go out looking for places to break in to burgle, and it seems to have been a one off event, so again goes to specific victim, I sway for and then against as to the husband being involved,

am also still not sure if it is he or she who is inside that outfit, I just hope it gets solved sooner rather than later,

Targeted by a hired killer would make a lot of sense. If that is the case, a man would make further sense. IMO

I don't think it being targeted or hired precludes a woman,

To me, this just looks like a woman with a job to do, shows up a little early to get the lay out of the place. A bit bored with roaming around & a little anxious to get the "show on the road".

She came with a plan and followed thru.

I'm going with male and targeted.

My thoughts as well, at least my interpretation of their behavior. Flip flop on whether it's a man or woman.

Maybe, but I never heard of a female killer for hire. :) Female rival I heard of ;),
but I think, it's not.

This is one of my scenarios and the one that I think is more likely or at least one quite like this. A burglar is one of my least likely.

Why I don't put hired or targeted murder at the top is the manner in which it was done. I would think if one was going to target someone keeping it simple is best. This person uses - what appears to me anyway - as too elaborate a disguise. A simple dark long sleeve T-shirt, jeans or dark trousers, gloves and balaclava would work and with dark athletic shoes might be easier to move around in. The person is roaming around the church when finding a vantage point to look for vehicles driving up would be better. Then move to an ambush point and shoot the victim with a .22, pick up the spent cases (unless they used a revolver) and leave. This effort just doesn't seem deliberate enough to be a planned murder. But one never knows what a criminal is thinking and I don't rule out a targeted murder.

The factors that lend itself to a targeted kill. They pick a place isolated enough away from residential areas where a gunshot is not likely to be heard, if a gun was used and I'm not entirely convinced on that aspect yet. As opposed to a parking lot or the victim's home as they are leaving in the early morning hours. It is done on a rainy night which will further deaden the noise and the closest homes would have windows closed with HVAC running.

I agree with you. I also don’t think the walk is natural. It looks exactly like I do right after I get a pedicure and I’m walking out of the salon with wet toes in those little flops trying to keep them on my feet. That was the dead giveaway for me that it is a woman. It’s the boots that are WAY too big that is causing her to walk that way. I also don’t think it’s a burglary, because churches are the last place that will have valuables stashed during the week. I think she’s trying to make it look like a burglary by breaking things and leaving doors open. She got there early to (1) check all of the possible routes in and out, (2) set it up to look like a burglary, and (3) to work up her nerve.

Apparently Missy's murdered spent time in the church's kitchen.

Now as an old church lady, I could probably find any cooking or serving tool needed in that kitchen.

Does anyone think this murderer is/was a member of Creekside, and hid a few items in that kitchen to use during the early-morning ramble & attack on Missy???

Way, wau back a poster mentioned friction about the appropriateness of the exercise class at the church, even though the class was held outside or under the portico.

I certainly don't know, but we haven't talked over this aspect for quite a while, so have at it.

I don't think of a member of Creekside Church. The person doesn't look as if very familiar with the building. The kitchen he could have used for some snacks, some drink and some tools. Exactly, because police didn't tell us, what he did during his kitchen-roaming, I think, he did something unexpected like eating/drinking, perhaps even cooking 3 fried eggs for himself (if he was brazen/drunk/high enough - and I believe, he is/was). I think, he knows some churches from the inside, perhaps better than a normal member, but not especially this church. IMO
