Midlothian is just a small country town. I know that Arlington PD was assisting with organizing all the tips that come in. They have more experience at this (Arlington is where the namesake for the Amber alert - Amber Hagerman - was abducted in 1996) & they developed a system at that time for entering/organizing/tracking tips. Texas Rangers usually get involved if it is a high-profile crime - which this definitely seems to be due to location (Midlothian hasn't had a homicide in like 9 yrs,) the victim & the sheer brutality of the murder. Law Enforcement probably called upon the assistance of the FBI to help them investigate simply because they have more resources. ATF assists in many violent crime investigations - simply to look for evidence of firearms, ammunition, arson, explosives, etc.

Thanks for the explanation. :) I'm a local but not in Midlothian. It's growing so fast that I often forget it is still a small town (for now, at least-lots of growth there lately).

I think part of the problem is that we don't know how exactly she died. She for instance could have been shot and killed instantly with the tools used for post-mortem desecration. If she was killed by hand up close that says one thing about the perp, but if she was struck by a bullet that says something else about the perp. If this was all done by hand, I would think someone would necessarily have to be athletic to do this and they might not have done as much intentional post-mortem desecration, but if she was shot then that widens the physical abilities of who could do this while making what was done to the body even more personal.

Brutal and personal-go with that, and go from there.

Yes. That is right. IMO.

I just can't let go(and I am sure it is bias from another case) of how much BB and his family have acted ala pressers, letters, interviews, posts, since MB death. People say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned but I am leaning towards like a family scorned! Maybe MB threatened to take kids, money etc and leave BB? IMO Austin was last straw whether one believes it was an affair vs family finally fed up.

All charter boats have ship to shore radios

Well, sure, yeah. I just meant that people back in Texas would have to contact him via Plan B, whatever it was, not directly on his cell. That's all.[emoji4]

Here is a rough 1st draft of the Org Chart. Big thanks to PibblePal for creating it! Who needs to be added or what changes should be made?

Here is the relation chart that lstiff and I worked on this morning for anyone who has questions or additions.

I don't believe Occams razor should apply to crime. If it did, every single woman murdered would result in instant arrest and charge of her husband or boyfriend or most recent ex with the crime. It's not that simple.

ETA even if statistically it bears out, what I mean is, every single crime has to be investigated as if everything is on the table and all things are possible. There are just far too many cases and examples of crimes where everyone thought a result was inevitable but the truth was very different.

While many companies furnish certain level employees cell phones today, there are various reasons the employee has their own personal cell too.

The main reason that I hear and know of is that the company has the GPS on the phone set so they can see where you are at any time. For some people, this does not bother them. For others, it is highly intrusive and for that reason they have a second personal cell.

I agree, but what stops me in this theory is the FB photo with self-defense/martial arts gear that looked familiar. I can't get past that photo.

Repeating something I've said before, but I feel that someone carrying on a real-life affair would have a password on their phone (Missy didn't).

I understand that some people feel that online flirting amounts to the same thing (and I do see where you're coming from), but my feeling is that if it was limited to LinkedIn, it probably wasn't that serious and hadn't been acted on in RL.

(Or else the parties involved were much smarter than most people who cheat these days.)

I respectfully disagree. To look at her FB, you would never know. But LinkedIn is not something most spouses would think of(til now, all across USA people are scrubbing). I know my wife's password and she knows mine so maybe what was the point?

You know, with the release yesterday of the search warrant, the LE KINDA gave us a motive, "financial woes, and extra marital affairs". IDK, but it is Occam' razorISH.

Love Occam's Razor!!! :heartbeat:

I'm wonder if there's going to be a bust of some kind of ring, like a drug ring in the fitness industry or a drug ring using trucks. I'm not really seeing what the NYPD can do that the FBI can't with the Stingray, so that could actually be a cover story for something else that is hitting NY. Maybe by saying NY is involved, this is trying to send a signal that LE is onto the perps, like this news that NY is connected to it might be making the perps panic.

I agree that the FBI would be just as proficient with cell phone issues as the NYPD...is it only local LE still working this case ? One thing I don't get : that "soft" appeal from LE to the killer : "get some help" "confide in someone "...this was a vicious, stunningly brutal murder, by all accounts. I can only imagine MB's terror when she saw that person in the church. She was just getting ready to work., to help her family. That "soft" appeal, well I don't see it, but jmo

Speaking of the calmness...I still don't know what to think of this. Either they are highly drugged up on Xanax (or something like it), trained with a LE/military background or just plain bat s**** crazy! Think of kids or us as adults when we are doing something we aren't supposed to (and can be nothing serious). Someone comes up on us and we jump or turn around. I know we have limited video but this person never "jerks". I mean, yeah, I'm sure they realize it's 4AM and no one is there and not supposed to be there but you would think they would still be somewhat nervous and "jumpy". They didn't KNOW for sure no one would show, they just assumed. They knew MB would be showing up but I'm sure they didn't know exactly what time.

That's what makes me think per wasn't alone in this. Either someone was following MB (as previously stated here on WS) and giving a play by play of when she would arrive or, they were sitting in the parking lot or outside doing a look out to let them know no one had shown up. They would be most comfortable knowing someone was on the looking and they would be flagged if someone showed up unexpectedly......

I am leaning towards mult perps now too. That is about paperboy(or girl) time. Wonder if LE has asked them if they saw any cars out in MB neighborhood etc parking lights on or driving slow. A team effort to take out MB.

Today I was going back and watching YouTube from the first days of this gruesome murder. I ran across one that caught my attention immediately. I have watched it numerous times and it becomes more disturbing each time.

It is at the vigil for Missy. In one particular scene, BB is hugging a person yet his crying seems too artificial. Have any of you noticed that? When this happened, I was out of town for my son's wedding for the week. I immediately got caught up on the threads, however, am just getting to those first YouTubes.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/04/19/husband-speaks-at-vigil-for-murdered-wife-in-midlothian/

Please don't judge me, as I have not thought BB was involved. However, thinking back to Mark Sievers crying display, BB's really shocked me!

I keep referring back to Occam's Razor (the simplest answer is usually the correct one) which points, in my opinion, to love, money, jealousy, revenge...But then I read that the NYPD is involved. And the FBI, the ATF, Texas Rangers, Arlington PD, and Midlothian PD. it just doesn't add up....unless it is just tactics by LE to get someone to confess? Does that happen?

Could they all be involved because s/he was impersonating a police officer?

Not unless it is a real police officer.
