Nothing earth-shattering on the NBC DFW station. They said that forensic video specialists were there and would probably go to the church tonight to take measurements and such. They said that there are about 54 of these specialists in the country, and 2 of them are assigned to this case.

With all the specialized agencies assisting in this case, I'm flabbergasted that this hasn't already been done. It's almost been a month. :(

I think you're right -- i.e., they meant "View First Unread." No wonder I couldn't find it in the FAQ. :-)

Silly me, I was looking at the top of the page -- not under the title for the thread. TY for the tip.

BTW, I was hoping WS members could somehow simply bookmark the last page (not thread) they were on before retiring for the night. What works for me (on my laptop) is simply emailing myself the link to the page I am on using my Firefox browser.

Still not clear what WS member Dogface meant when he wrote he was marking his spot by posting a comment. He seemed to be suggesting bookmarking is possible. But I found nada in the FAQ. Plus I would think bookmarking would not require posting a comment to trigger it saving your page number (normally).

I also looked in the FAQ for what exactly first unread means in the feature "View First Unread." I tried it and it redirected me to an unexpected place over 6 pages ahead of where I was last reading comments. [head scratch]

Yeah, I thought the FBI would have done this weeks ago

Does not sound encouraging if they are only now doing this. I don't think police know much more than we do.

So I've been a baseball coach for 19 years. I know good arms, and swings. At the end of the video when the perp is breaking glass or a door, that's a pitiful swing. Female, or older guy.

With respect, lots of men can't swing well. And there's nothing to suggest that the perp was a baseball player.

I know how to evaluate swings, having worked at a baseball school, and having coached, and having had two coaches who were trained by Charlie Lau. (I had a summer job at a baseball school.)

I say this because I know that most baseball players don't really understand the dynamics of a good swing. And most coaches do not know this as well.

And so, I wouldn't want to guess about the perp based on a swing -- and we're also talking about a non-baseball swing.

Wow, the perp could've just wore all black and a ski mask to pull this off, but he blatantly wears the swat/police getup, like he's taunting the LE. "Catch me if ya can". IDK, I'm getting discouraged:(

Hey Folks,

If you see a post that annoys you, just scroll and roll. Let's move away from the chit chat. This thread is for Missy.

Thanks!

Well, the SWAT tactical gear is not designed for fighting, as far as I know. It's bulky, movement-restricting, it slows the wearer down. Especially an unexperienced wearer like the perp in question. His helmet was too big, most probably limiting his vision, the shoes were ill fitting, bad choice if you plan to fight with someone. This outfit actually causes more problems than that - it catches the attention, so the perp had to take it off before leaving the church, therefore spending more time on or around crime scene. You cannot just roll it into a ball and stuff in a bag, or under the car seat. The helmet, the vest, the protective pads, it all takes space. What if someone noticed it in his car? Risky, if you ask me. Getting rid of it is also not easy, exactly because it's bulky. And hard to destroy, even by fire. Only a juvenile (or someone extremely immature) might think dressing himself in that gear is the best possible way to protect themselves and conceal their identity. If the perp wanted to kill Missy it would be easier to prepare a weapon for that. Ambush her and knock her out with something heavy, shoot her, but getting involved in a fight while wearing this uncomfortable gear?

He may have dressed like that to intimidate and scare MB . Interesting how many posters have expressed fear when they see his image. It could be a juvenile hired to kill her, or a juvenile who she knew through someone else, someone made angry enough to kill her. Hope this wasn't an interrupted incident, where MB just walked in on him. Difficult for LE if so. jmo

Take measurements and such? Why would they need an expert to do that. Surely they are doing something more substantive.

Right, I agree. I would also like to add that this swing was into what SWATperp knew was **tempered glass**. The perp had the correct tool to break it so significant force was not needed PLUS that type of glass breaks differently by design....the Perp knew he didn't want to get blowback glass in his face/eyes.
SWATperp's technique of breaking **tempered glass** was effective, and professionally done. He's done this before.

All my opinion, of course.

Baffles me. I would have thought they would do that in the first days. Hopefully it's to confirm a height and make an arrest.

<modsnip>

Apparently my post got deleted but either way it hasn't been a month yet so I say be patient. I'm sure LE is getting the evidence in order to make an arrest. Other cases have taken longer where LE knew who the perp(s) was right away. JMO though.

ETA: LE was onto the killers in the Sievers case quick and it was almost 2 months to the day until the 1st arrests so I *think* it will be sooner for Missy's case. JMO. (My iPhone is being weird or something here, thought I was in TO!)

Said it before and saying it again.

I think they have no suspect.

How many minutes is the video in total? Are there missing minutes we have not seen? I sure would have thought NASA would have seen it by now and made any enhancements, just now is getting a second look from another department.

And last but not least, is there any film of the murder being committed?

We are worlds apart. I feel like this person is a total amateur. They couldn't even open one of the doors. About the swing...its not the FINISH of his swing, it's the ROATION from below waist to contact. Feminine.

Sounds to me like they are building their case. Dotting "i's" and crossing "t's".

Maybe a re-enactment, based on a new tip, or new info ?

The swing did look weak, but maybe it was his non-dominant hand? I'm thinking he's a pro, has done this before anddidnt seem to display any anxiety as he was walking around the halls. He (I personally think it's a dude) enjoyed himself:(

In my opinion, taking measurements is usually done for ballistic studies. LE studies trajectories. It is quite a science. And if my theory is correct, they are getting closer to wrapping this case up. I feel multiple weapons were used in this crime. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a gun with a silencer was used (amongst other weapons). This is all moo.

And another thing; piecing together the "creepy" LinkedIn message AND BB's comment about MB being more careful (or something to that effect as mentioned by the MIL--please don't make me attach a link), I wouldn't be surprised if MB didn't mention quickly & briefly something about wacky peeps or some stalker weirdo thingy. Maybe MB said it half in gest or very briefly on her way out the door? Maybe she didn't say anything but something subtle made him worry? And by no means am I pointing the finger at BB; quite the contrary.

I doubt the "creepy" LinkedIn message was her first "notice" of something foreboding. Remember, she wasn't herself at the gym & she hadn't been going much lately.

All moo & speculation.....
