I think that perp encountered the same problem at the NE that I have been explaining. He tried to bash in the glass in the door, to use the push bar to open it, and then discovered that the push bar wouldn't open it. (Then he went around the side, tried it at the small window in the kitchen door, and same thing.) Ultimately, imo he ended up having to pry the lock off the kitchen door, to gain access.

I think this makes a lot of sense. But, now you have me wondering how and why that inner push bar door to the small lobby that leads out to the car port was open. How did someone open that door if the push bars were locked for the night? It must have been left open inadvertently earlier in the evening when people left the church for the evening (?) ...Unless each push bar must be locked separately from the others.

I don't want to get in trouble as I believe his job is off limits. But that's generally the number I found - less than 10, certainly.

VP could be part of a small company with 2 employees, that hopes to one day be bigger. No pomposity necessarily, just a title designated by the documents to structure the business. Anyone that's ever formed a small business (and I have owned several) knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Okay, the business/insurance discussion needs to be put to rest with these final posts.

I've let this discussion stand because of the insurance issue and BB's assertions regarding insurance. However, we're not digging any deeper into the family business at this time so consider it put to bed now.

Thanks.

Well, not physically going to the gym- I just meant she had a change in behavior. Perhaps there was a reason that her husband was privy to and we are not. So, he was concerned. And we protect our loved ones here in MD as well.

just would like some thoughts please from WS members

if BB knew about creepy message don't you think that would be the first thing he might have said to reporters?

My wife received a creepy message on LI and now she is gone. (Choked up- oh wait I didn't see that) I've told the police and they are checking into this.

I know now everyone reacts differently - before that discussion starts again - but please not even choked up. Nothing.

Just wanted to say that many WS members are very well informed and you can tell the ones that have been here for awhile - I enjoy how this platform gives people a place to voice their opinions and raise some questions. Which I believe if LE does read this - they all sit around scratching their heads and say now why didn't we think of that...when we all know they are way more ahead of this curve ball than we are. :)

A kitchen is a place where you might need to exit quickly in the event of fire. i think that's why it was installed with a panic bar in the first place. I guess they could unlock it during business hours and lock it at closing. But who is actually going to do that?

The church I attend, in the same broad area as CCoC and about the same size, is one. I think it's all computerized to lock and unlock at certain hours, perhaps with a keypad somewhere to manually unlock one or more doors, but can't say for certain (not my domain of responsibility).

ETA - you can get out after hours, but it's not as simple as just pushing the push bar.

if BB was so worried about MBs safety after doing this for 7 months why bring it up on the day he is leaving for his trip? Red flag if this was conversation on Sunday. JMO.

Remember he had thought about Randy Meisner the night before his wife was shot and wrote about it on social media. Just saying.

I can think of an innocent way this conversation between BB and his mother could come up. Phone conversation about special fishing trip takes place.... leads to mother asking who will stay with the two younger kids if the oldest daughter helps MB set up for exercise and her exercise class... She won't leave them alone, will she? No... no, oldest daughter will be staying at home so they won't be alone. Well, that's good... but I'm not crazy about MB being out there in the middle of nowhere at that time all alone either... never been happy with that set up at all. I know... I worry, too... every week I worry... Couldn't she just cancel this one time? With you being away... they ought to understand if she cancels... Well, she's careful... I've told her to be careful and we've talked about it but... I worry anyway... (and so on...) jmo

I don't consider the fact that her wedding ring was not taken to mean much.

1. Perhaps for workouts she wore just a plain band that didn't look all that valuable. I can't find any pictures of her actually working out (there's one with the purple kettle bell where it looks like she has a diamond, but that could just be a posed picture). It would seem that a diamond would get in the way with weights, half-gloves 'n stuff.

2. A burglar might think that a wedding band would have an inscription that could easily be traced if he tried to sell it.

p.s. I'm not necessarily on the burglary bandwagon... just offering my thoughts on this facet of the discussion ('facet' pun not intended!).

FWIW---I don't wear any jewelry while working out, too many bad things can happen, with weights, equipment, etc. So, perhaps she didn't even wear her wedding ring that day.

IMHO

I still follow here, but I've exhausted my theories on her murder. I just find it amazing that someone committed this murder with surveillance cameras in the area and now we are 2 months from when it happened with no arrest. The fact that the murderer walked out of the church, got in their car and drove off and the vehicle is not really captured on video because the outside cameras were not working. How lucky can a perp get!

BB mentioned in an interview that he didn't think it was burglary because the perp didn't take her wedding ring.

Why are we worried about what MT said to the media what BB said on Sunday or Monday morning to her, when MLPD says none of the Bevers familymembers or friends or co-workers are the subjects of this investigation?

I thought the husband noted that the killer did not take her wedding ring and that was his reasoning that this was not a robbery gone bad. I know I saw that in one article somewhere.

See quote the the wedding ring below.
http://www.people.com/article/missy-bevers-husband-theory-who-killed-his-wife

May 25, 2016: "Brandon Bevers, the husband of a Texas fitness instructor who was found dead inside a church last month just before she was to teach an early morning class, believes his wife knew her killer.

"I still think whoever this person was knew my wife and had a motive," Bevers tells PEOPLE. "There's no doubt about it."
.....
"I think it was a woman," he said. "That's just an opinion."
.....
"There's no reason why an individual would break into a church, dressed in that type of clothing and stage a robbery, or what would appear to be a robbery – going through the building, breaking glass and opening doors," he says. "If that person was really there to commit a robbery, why did they kill my wife and leave her wedding ring on her finger?" ..."

A CG participant is not a Bevers familymember, not neccessarily a friend and surely not a co-worker, right? Just saying..Who else does not fall in either one of those categories? Start your lists..

Steve, you may be completely correct on this, but I have a hard time understanding how it's good policy for a facility to lock on the inside the kitchen door, which is equipped with a panic bar for a reason, making it impossible for a "panicked" person to quickly leave unless they find a key first.

A kitchen is a place where you might need to exit quickly in the event of fire. i think that's why it was installed with a panic bar in the first place. I guess they could unlock it during business hours and lock it at closing. But who is actually going to do that?

The janitor or person responsible for building security does. (See my post #816 page 55 if you missed it.) It's part of his job, so not considered a hassle, really. Often these locking systems are computerized (at least in larger office buildings), so it's just a routine matter.

Absolutely. I may be mistaken here, but I think that her kids are entitled to SOC SEC until they are 18. JMO

Yes, the kids would be entitled to social security if Missy paid into social security and had enough credits for the children to qualify for survivor benefits. And there is also a limit to the total amount that BB and each girl would be eligible to receive each month.

But social security is not health insurance which was being discussed.

My perception is similar to yours. BB going out of town...he talked with his mom and perhaps either BB asked his mom to touch base with MB since he was going to be gone or maybe MT asked BB if MB and/or girls would be ok or if they needed anything. I think it's acceptable to think BB brought up that he was uncomfortable or scared for his wife to alone and out at that time.
The world we live in is crazy and not what it use to be. I would be more suspicious if he wasn't scared for her.

I thought the husband noted that the killer did not take her wedding ring and that was his reasoning that this was not a robbery gone bad. I know I saw that in one article somewhere.

I would have to disagree with BB's reasoning here. I'm leaning towards a targeted murder for many reasons but the wedding ring doesn't even play into it for me. Criminals have their own business modes. If the SP was on a thieving mission that night, he/she did not plan on stealing a wedding ring off of the finger of a woman he had no idea would show up and interrupt his work. Thieves have plans for what they intend to steal... places to unload it and get paid or then, there are those who will only take money. Stolen jewelry requires fencing in certain places or to certain people and, if you don't know where those places or who/where those people are, you're stuck with the stuff. Jewelry is recognizable and many pawn shops are on the lookout, having been notified by LE of the theft. Most likely a wedding ring would have to be melted down and sold for the weight so it couldn't be recognized... NOT worth the risk for a few bucks!
Simpler reasoning (for me, if not for BB) says that thieves don't prepare to steal by loading themselves into a bulky, awkward SWAT type get up with a tool cupboard on his/her chest and complete with a vision/hearing restrictive, hot and sweaty helmet. I could be wrong, for sure... but give me breathable, lightweight, dark colored, loose fitting clothing and and a ski pullover head cover (which would still be hot but it's better than a helmet any day of the week.)
And, as for removing jewelry from someone I just left for dead... no thanks. Because one more thing... that ring may not be very easy to remove and I have gloves on and I'm not taking them off for ANY reason.

Respectfully that is not what LE said. They said they are not suspects. LE has said nothing about who is and who is not the focus of the investigation. LE talked about the difference between POIs and suspects before stating they were not suspects
May 20 presser.... paragraph 3 or 4

Assistant police chief Kevin Johnson said none of the eight (excluding the victim MB) people named in the warrants are suspects in the case.

http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/midl...rkers-are-suspects-in-bevers-murder/206847689

BB, MT, AT, CT, KC, MC, RB, VB, WH. And I guess the flirty guy on Linkedin>

Then we have BB's curious statement, that all should be considered suspects. So take it for what that's worth.

"It's just like the officer said today when I met with them; myself and everybody else in this investigation, despite the fact that they've come out and said they're no longer suspects doesn't mean they've been eradicated from the investigation because the door has to remain open,” Brandon said. "Once they've scoured the field they should never close the door, you know."
