I thought it was the inside door (of the double entry) that was propped open. The outside door is closed? tia

AFAIK only the main entrance is double entry, but the side door just has a single set of doors, which both those doors are propped open.

I have followed the case of Russell and Shirley Dermond who were killed in GA 5/2014. They were 87 & 88 years old.
It seems like investigators have very little to go on and it has been frustrating. Every murder is wrong and brutal. To me the Durmonds murder was especially horrific and it motives nonexistent as far as we know.

I hope Missy's killer(s) face justice very soon.
If this turns out like the Dermond's case and 1 year from now no one has been arrested I am going to think there is a demented hit man out there.

Yes, I agree! Here is the link to the Dermonds thread here at Websleuths: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-County-2-May-2014-10&p=12513482#post12513482

She must have carried them with her at least sometimes. I think I posted a pic with the firehouses and tires in her vehicle from an earlier date. I will see if I can find it again.

It's okay (although I would love to see that pic again), I think I do remember the pics with the tires and firehoses in her truck.

I wouldn't even think of it. I could probably do it, but it never, ever would cross my mind to dismantle a push-bar on a door to use as a weapon or to disable the door. With acknowledgement that I'm being sexist, that does sound like a man thing....or a woman who has experience with building.

After going back and forth, and I'm solidly on the fence about the gender of the perp.

JMOpinion, subject to change.

BBM. Or a woman who did her homework. One can find online tutorials for just about anything (if you can learn how to install door handles, you can figure out how to remove them, what tools to use, etc.). Since everything else about this case seems premeditated (to me), why not learn about CCTV systems, where to find uniforms, MB's schedule, etc. Not saying that's what happened here, but another possibility.

I'm sitting right on that fence with you, Inthedetails.

I saw one video of church members entering the church and it appeared they used a keypad door lock to enter. Those thingies where you enter a number and the door opens. Could it be the campers had to call a church official to get the key # to see about Missy? It would explain why they waited outside for so long before going in to see about her. There is a 25 minute gap from when the 1st camper arrives to when 911 is called.

Many public buildings use keypads. It's easier than giving out keys to the many people who need to enter. Also, if they change their mind about someone having access, they just change the access code instead of asking for a key back.

That is how the back side.. end hallway exit doors are. Terri Missy Bevers door lock on boarded up doors .jpg. But wouldn't that code unlock the door and that door stay unlocked until it was "locked again" ? Press Conf didn't sound like the campers had any issues with entry of the covered side door. Again I am just thinking out loud, I have no idea. I do remember a photo of a camper that MB had posted and she made comment about the camper being there early at 430 and going strong. So it doesn't appear that unusual for them to arrive early. ALSO have to keep in mind it was a stormy morning (sadly in more ways than one) JMHO **cant get a clear enough picture of the side door to see lock on them - either side of building

This has me kerfuffled as well. Wouldn't she have seen a car parked on that side as she is driving up the driveway?

That's what makes me think she knew the person and it didn't cause any alarm to her to see it there. Unless of course, the person was parked around the back. Which I think is more accurate because the Gun store camera would not be able to see it on the opposite side of the building.

http://www.estwing.com/bricklayer_hammers.php I've studied the different types of these bricklayer hammers and I think it is very plausible this is the tool the perp is carrying in the video.

I agree. I've been saying the same thing for days now - that it looks just that (it's also called a geologist's hammer or rock hammer) but I didn't think anyone else agreed! <modsnip>

not according to photos MB posted they did them in the parking lot normally. And I would think under that covered drive and the little pretty good size patio that is there. Not the front of the church as in Glass Entrance Front JMHO

No my friend, I meant when it was raining! ;) I found a news article that has a copy of the announcement she made on her CG page. She said "5:00am, Creekside Church of Christ, we have cover under the front awning!"

It's def someone that is trained or exp, IMO or my men in my life aren't real handy- BUT that looks like some advanced training or skills - add in the gear- and makes me think of the hand following the wall- LE OR FFwould have this practice- IMO - thoughts?

If - IF - Midlothian P.D. had to investigate one of their own, which agency would be brought in to do that -or- how would that work? I understand it varies from state to state.

Thank you Arkansasmimi! Looks like it takes a key to me...

Not only that, but Camper #1 and the perp could easily have passed each other on the driveway unless he/she was long gone or he/she was still parked there on the side.

I don't see how 'the perp had to know they were not working'. This seems like more of an assumption than a conclusion. If the perp was already in the 'swat getup', and was recorded multiple times inside, s/he may just not have cared. That's a benefit of a disguise.

You are making the assumption that they travel by foot only needing to disguise themselves rather than the make, model and license plate of their vehicle as well in an area that is miles away from any residential area needing to either carry or dispose of their gear along the way while it is dark and raining.

But, she didn't go to church there... Maybe she thought the side awning was the front of the church like a lot of us? Maybe she had never been through the front of the church? Just being speculative here.

Excellent point!

Circling around again, Is is about somebody being PO'd that she was using the church for her GC class? Did Missy lug this firehose and tire around with her as regular equipment? Did she store it at the church?

here it is, from Thread #4, Post 51: firehoses and tire in back of her vehicle:

JMO, but I'm not sure we can assume perp arrived in a car.

It's remote, but not that remote. The nearest high school is about 3 miles away (an hour's walk), and the town isn't too much further. Someone in shape could hike this, even in the rain. For all we know he had a fold-up poncho in his gear.

Boots, I was just teasing Arkansasmimi! But if I didn't provide a link with my comments, it would just come back up tomorrow. ;) KWIM? Ha!

FTR, I totally agree with you.
