Depends on where they parked.

I still think there was plenty of time for the perp to kill MB, get in his car and leave before the first camper arrived.

I wonder if the police know exactly what time the killer left the building and/or what time that vehicle was moved. I'm sure they've checked out whether Camper#1 saw anybody else on the road that morning. Having said that, a mile either side of the church there are a number of roads leading off the 287, could have been in a more residential area within a couple of minutes.

My Mr. works for the Federal Aviation Administration. He says practices vary by regional airport, but most do not track who flies in and out—and the FAA does not require them to—as long as they are using visual flight rules. If the pilot files a flight plan with the tower or airport, however, then tail number is recorded.

This is probably a dumb question, but would visual flight rules apply during nighttime and/or during thunderstorms?

I don't know what the theories are regarding when the perp potentially could have flown in or out of the nearby airport, but assuming the perp went directly to the airport right after committing the murder, the weather conditions seem less than ideal for a stealthy takeoff to me, but I'm no pilot.

LIST OF POSSIBLE SUSPECT ACTIVITIES

3:50 break in kitchen door NE
prepare kitchen door for fast exit#1
assess kitchen area
locate toolbox (assumed in kitchen)
select tools
enter side hallway
prepare and break back double doors for fast exit#2
navigate and recon entire square of hallways once
read bulletin board (perhaps floor plan/fire exit plan)
random vandalism, break glass
pry, damage, open doors
identify office doors, riffle through office
identify expected doors MB will open – auditorium?
prepare auditorium area for intended murder?
4:10 Stop, wait in double Dutch room for MB headlights in window
4:16 MB arrives
4:16 moves to auditorium, closes double Dutch doors behind to look normal
lies in wait
4:18 MB enters building, turns right to small hallway to auditorium doors left
4:20 attack
4:25 leaves auditorium moving NE
4:25 immediately exits building NE either kitchen or back double doors
Gone 10 minutes before first CG camper arrives at 4:35.

So what looks to us like casual meandering in the hallways, arbitrary vandalism, is a lot of very purposeful activity completed in about 20 minutes before stopping to wait for MB. He did a recon around the whole square of hallways so he would not get lost if he had to make a run for it. That’s why he was tracing the wall, just like posters have drawn the floor plan trying to figure out where everything is, he wanted to know where he was if he had to run, where every exit would put him outside. Even if he had visited a service, it would look all different in daylight with people around, and he would have done it long ago enough that no one remembers him/her.

JMO/some thoughts please add or subtract any other activities. I was just amazed when I listed it out just how much they actually did in 20 minutes.
SANDYQLS...chilling and riveting. I felt as if I was following the narrative of what a "paid hitman" would do in order to set up for a murder and escape!! (Like the guy with the scary voice on Dateline, Kieth Morrison. His haunting delivery can make you suspicious of anyone....."Twas the night before Christmas and while you are sleeping, a strange overweight man stealthily, sneaks into your house with oddly wrapped packages.....is he Santa Claus or is he your worst nightmare?") But I digress, I think your sequential list of perps actions excellent!!! A pleasure to re-read, too.

Excellent post! It would be nice to hear from one of her siblings or close friends. Something is missing and it's like the other shoe is about to drop..

Yeah, we would all like to hear from immediate family. Unfortunately for us, not everyone is comfortable with media intrusion. I think my first reaction would be to withdraw and need to be left alone. Perhaps after I was able to get over the initial shock and sadness I would then reach the angry and wanting an arrest ASAP stage. Only then could I even consider talking to media. But that's me, and we aren't all alike or handle grief in the same way. Heck, I don't even like to use FB with friends, let alone telling the whole world something so personal.

The folks here have made some amazing progress based on such a limited amount of I formation. I am nothing short of amazed. Coupled with what has been released, discounting the local rumor and hear say, thus far we know where the suspect entered the building, what he/she was wearing, what he/she was carrying, (thanks to all the people here who have poster schematics and hashed what rooms are what and what halls are where) we pretty much know where the suspect traveled within the church and at what times. We know the amount of time the suspect had time commit the murder, and escape. What we don't know, is how he/she got there or left, although based on LE ' S comments about video of what in their own words they believe to be the suspects car. I think k we can reasonably speculate that it was, as who else is could it have Belonged get to? It is also on video, from interior camera so we know it was parked close. We don't know the motive, and we don't know what suspect picked up in kitchen just before pounding sheet rock with the hammer.

Actually most of the things you say are know really aren't known. Virtually everything you state as already known has been contested here. We don't for instance know the amount of time the suspect had to commit the murder and escape as that would require knowing where 'outside' the early camper was whether they were outside under the awning in front of the side entrance (something that would tend to necessitate an early exit by the perp) or in their car playing games on their phone (something that could give the perp an extra 20 minutes). Also with the car LE mentioned early on they say they saw it 'parked' but don't say where they saw it parked plus the footage came from a camera 1800 feet away, so it could have just been somebody who had car trouble and happened to be parked near the church. It's the interior camera that caught Missy's vehicle driving up, not the perp's vehicle.

If someone murdered my loved one I absolutely would want to know exactly what happened. Not wanting to know seems like not wanting to face the reality- maybe because it is too painful or because maybe he already knows........ and has no reason to read it........perhaps they briefed him.
It is a rageful hit -up close and personal; It is definitely someone in her inner circle; aware of her movements; her schedule her departures...and someone who hated her and plotted.....it was planned.....oh and alibis are also planned. Where is Missy's own family in this or her girlfriends. Who is speaking for her? There seems to be missing a clear voice for her.Like We need to catch this SOB that killed Missy versus I am at peace with God. Its not about YOU
Who is giving voice to the victim and actually why isn't someone?
This!! I found a public FB post from a sweet friend she was with in Austin who recapped their time together and it was a sweet look into Missy as we have not been able to see her but I'm not sure I can share bc that person has not been in MSM so it's "sleuthing" or "rumor". Where are her people & why are they not talking? THIS speaks volumes!

Howdy folks. I've been off since this morning. Can I get an update? Much grass.

Oh Bill. Well today we basically abandoned ship and are all floating in the ocean. Here's a life vest.
We tried to discuss exit strategy, headlamps again, BB spoke to media at PD again, we found our way back to RB again, violated TOS several times, discussed the rain hindering the outside evidence, found some interesting people on MB FB, posted a map of a church that is not THE church and apparently the town had an incident today that caused a "soft lockdown" of schools but don't be alarmed, it wasn't related to the case. Whew.

ETA: We made a list of coincidences that Tricia is allowing as long as we can verify they aren't rumors.
ETAA: Can't believe I forgot, we mixed up The Texas Rangers, again!

women homicide victims are predominantly killed by their spouses
This is a premeditated murder.

Bevop, you've gone from universal generalization to specific accusation in record brevity.

Now, if you could just fill this sandwich in with means, motive, opportunity, and evidence, we might have something to sink our teeth into. ;)

what puzzles me is...in looking at google street view of the church - there is only one drive in/out. I would think that surely one of the early arriving "campers" would have seen this vehicle leaving the church as they were arriving.

That's why there's been speculation that they didn't really leave where they could have for instance parked in the back, then changed in their car after the murder and showed up as a shocked camper while providing themselves an alibi by showing themselves as just arriving way after the murder took place.

If what he said is true - that he goes to LE voluntarily on his own initiative but hasn't been following the case - wouldn't he worry that he'd be impeding the investigation? I do think some of what he says may only be partially true (like he may be going there voluntarily, but not on his own initiate) as I don't see what he'd be doing there to just call up LE and tell them he feels like saying what's on his mind and for matter why he couldn't just tell them over the phone.
Not trying to point finger at BB, but people have been known to show up at police station during many cases I've followed over the years just to snoop and try to find out what LE knows about the case.

Ok, been thinking and that's dangerous...And 20 + pages behind lol

1) per Chief Smith, "the officers observed lots of broken glass on the floor around the female and they started a search of the building to make sure there were no other individuals in the building . https://www.facebook.com/1950470073...1462401707./10154073544117359/?type=3&theater

2) Reminded me, there are 2 glass top tables in that main hallway. They can be seen in the 358am shots. One is prior to the door Suspect opens and the other is next to the door the Suspect tried to open.. Above that one is a Cross wall hanging
. Creekside main hallway glass tables in view w Suspect.JPG

3) In the front entrance, by the Cub Corner is a Glass Entrance. It reminds me of a plant green house lol "glass house looking"
Creekside main entrance Cub Corner.JPG

4) Camera that captured Suspect walking 358 towards covered drive door....camera would be in area over covered drive door MB entered through.

5) Camera that captured Suspect walk down Dutch door hallway, would be in area where blue balloon is in this photo

This is probably a dumb question, but would visual flight rules apply during nighttime and/or during thunderstorms?.

I'll ask him when I get ahold of him again. From what I've interpreted from reading about visual flight rules just now, it's doable and done but it's not exactly recommended.

* Don't take this as hard fact. All the acronyms and technical jargon muddle my mind.

Most murders are violent and vicious. But not all murders are investigated by the FBI, Texas Rangers, BATF, US Marshals. Nor are canines trained to detect explosives brought to most crime scenes. Something about this particular crime scene motivates this type of investigation. What did LE see there ? jmo

I believe this is the tribute to Missy you are referring to. I will put the link here, but will alert a mod to make sure it is OK. It is quite a lovely tribute.

Yes, that's what I thought, but it's been a long time since I've flown in someone's private plane. That's why I've seen the airport as very appealing since you could come from anywhere and go anywhere with minimal records kept and you could do all this without ever having to go on the highway. What could really answer some questions would be if someone knows a person who has a FlightAware account to see what flights were happening around that time of the murder:
https://flightaware.com/live/airport/KJWY
The problem with flight aware is that not every pilot files a flight plan. Sometimes we don't, unless we are flying into a larger airport like Charleston International or very long flights for safety reasons. We don't show up on flight aware if we don't file one. If we don't want to be tracked, we wouldn't even think about it. Not all planes have the electronics that people think they do. I think it's highly unlikely that a plane ride is involved in this murder.

As much as I would love an update as well, I think the silence is working in their favor...or I'm being overly optimistic and they have nothing.

If RB/BB hasn't been cleared, it may have even been LE themselves that tipped off the media that they'd be showing up today because they knew what would happen and wanted to see what BB would say. If they're not cleared, it's certainly to LE's advantage to get them talking as much as possible without a lawyer around or invoking the 5th.

Now that we have a much better idea about COD- I really would like to see them release the recording of the 911 call. If there are any graphic portions they can simply redact it. I would love to hear that call from the first camper that came upon MB. RIP, Missy!

I don't see how he can hold it together to even talk to the press. Does he ask for these interviews or are they just camped out at the police station waiting to see if he shows up? I would tell them no comment if it were me. I just can't talk when I'm upset. I have to be by myself or maybe with close family. Praying they find the person responsible soon. I can't imagine what this family is going through.

I would imagine that BB has had plenty of alone time during this very horrific time in his life & the lives of his children & family. He is cooperating. He has said that he calls Midlothian police whenever he has something pop up in his mind. Personally, I think that he had something he felt compelled to share with LE. Something he felt was a piece of evidence, an artifact, or a document--a physical piece of something important to help the investigation.

He is obviously very physically distraught (weight loss) & is a spiritual man. I feel very bad for him.

There's a wide perimeter of hundreds of feet with the parking lots bordering the dirt where it would take a lot of time to search that in the dark and heavy rain and it would be a big risk that you're actually identifying footprints that are fresh rather than something else. Plus the rain serves to destroy the evidence, so by the time LE was to get a scenthound out there, I'm not sure that there'd be any meaningful evidence outside for the dog to smell with it being all washed away by the heavy rain. The MPD only has 50 cops (and not all of them even FT) for all jobs and all shifts, so it's not like they have an infinite amount of resources to go on what might be a wild goose chase in conditions that are bad for tracking. Actually if you look at the aerial there seems to be a spot where a perp could practically get right into the creek without really leaving any tracks at all except sliding down an embankment as there is like a curb or a wall that extends out to the creek from far north parking lot.

What wall? I see no wall. I just see a heavily wooded deep embankment on both sides of the creek. Looks to me like it would be difficult to cross in the daylight, let alone in pitch blackness in the rain.

This may be a small town, however, bigger cities could help out - were scent dogs brought in?
