I lived in Midlothian, I knew Missy, I’ve been in the fitness industry for 20+ years and even taught one of her Camp Gladiator classes with her. I had had a conversation with her about self-defense and, ironically, her own personal safety. We knew many of the same people. Heck, I’ve even been in the church where she was murdered. But even as I could write about all the good that Missy did in the world, I would inevitably learn other things. To date, the still unsolved murder has been called “riveting,” “shocking” and “compelling” by national magazines and headline news agencies around the world, each looking for the next big tease. Everyone is weighing in with their own theories as more rumors swirl around the small town of Midlothian, Texas.
In their quest to find the truth, the police have interrogated quite a few people who have later said how brutal, intense, even unkind it was. But the police are only doing their jobs as the murder of Missy was, to say the least, brutal, intense and, most unkind.
