Missing in Texas: A look at unsolved cases in Bastrop County

One of them is Theodore Wenk, who was last heard from in June 1987. His last known location was near Chestnut Street and Hill Street in Bastrop. His car was found abandoned in a business parking lot in Austin.

He's listed on the DPS Missing Persons bulletin as endangered with foul play possible.

"We've talked to the family. We have no further leads at this time as to his current whereabouts. We have theories, but can't talk about those because it still is an active investigation," Sgt. James Miller said.

Ok, this is a bizarre case!

Read the newspaper clippings at this link. Ted Wenk had been in some trouble with exotic animals, shrunken heads, and drugs. I'll try to post the last article that has info regarding Ted's disappearance.

There are several other stories, but when I tried to load them here, it says the files are too big. Maybe someone else can figure it out.

Here's a news article (dated June 6, 1987) regarding Wenk's spring sale of exotic animals. He would accept anything of value in payment for the animals. This "zoo" was located about 23 miles east of Austin. Apparently, just 20 or so days after the publishing of this article... Wenk is missing. Interesting. Whoa, that's wild. I've been to that place loads of times, and it seems to be a reputable place that takes good care of the animals. Fun, too! Cedar Creek, Texas
