What bothers me is the cell phone that may have been planted. Why did Lewis ask Penny for his passcode before the phone was “found”? On page 6 of this Tom Brown forum, there was discussion about Tom’s Facebook being hacked in March of the year he went missing. Does anyone know or remember if it was similar to what Lewis insinuated about Thomas hours after he went missing? Is it possible to hack a Facebook account by getting someone’s SIM card? MOO

Well, I am a "reasonable person" and I see many pieces of "viable evidence" that make me think of foul play, Mr. AG. Also, I'd walk softly if I was the Sheriff about making accusations of planted evidence against Klein and having them summoned for a polygraph. Sounds like CYA to me, Sheriff.

Help Find Tom Brown's Killer

Special Statement from Klein about Tom's case. Its worth reading - and then ask yourself if you still think LE isn't tied to this somehow.

Could someone explain to me why Klein would be polygraphed re the phone? Why do they think he would have had it in the first place so he could then plant it? What would have been Klein's motive? It makes more sense that someone other than Klein and Co. had it and wanted it to "be found". I recall it looked to be in good condition and it was doubtful it had been out in the elements before it was discovered. Was anything of interest found on the phone that we know of? Is it possible that someone had it to alter communications?

Honestly, I have no clue why they would really think Klein was involved in planting it. My only guess is that they wanted it to get out that he had been polygraphed so there would be doubt in the public eye and people would not trust Klein. Nothing has been released on what was actually found on the phone, other than that' they were able to put together a huge amount of infomration'. (from Kleins statement on 8.28.19).

Oh my goodness......this is so sad for the family and I must say the community. For someone to record a very private conversation and spread it around is awful. To know people you are supposed to trust are doing this must be so hard on the family. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon.

Reading this again, it almost sounds as though the Hemphill S.O. was looking to embarrass Klein in front of the AG and in front of TB's family. Why?
BUT...there were over 300 searchers that day. Could it be that one of the searchers planted the phone? Was there someone on the search team that could possibly have had good reason to be in possession of TB's phone and who decided "to plant it" so it would at least be found and not found later in the searcher's possession where questions would certainly arise? This scenario seems more likely to me.

Why? Well I wonder why the Hemphill S.O. did numerous things. I don’t really know ....maybe psychological manipulation such as Gaslighting.
Which one would have been more likely to have had the cellphone to plant - Klein or Lewis/Pyne? Again - why did Lewis ask Penny for the passcode before the phone was “found”. It is possible a searcher could have planted the phone, but that scenario seems unlikely to me. Wish we knew. Praying for truth and justice. MOO

While I guess its *possible* another searcher planted it. I doubt it. Too many things that raise my hinky meter. Why ask for the passcode? Why was Payne's car parked at the exact mile marker on the day of the search where the phone was found? Two MAJOR breaks for this case and Payne Gregory was there for both of them. Coincidence? Maybe.

So this case gets stranger and stranger. It’s like someone is toying with Penny, or running a “gaslighting campaign.” Or is this a cruel hoax?

I’m interested in hearing others’ opinions. What do you think is happening?

“Statement: Thomas Brown Case

Yesterday, one of our investigators received an anonymous letter sent via snail mail to our offices. In the letter, this person states that they sent pictures and specific information to our firm, shortly after Thomas' remains were found. We never received that package of pictures nor the tip that went with it.

We are asking this person to PLEASE send the pictures to us again. We do not know who you are, but your information IS IMPORTANT and we would like everything in FULL. Thank you!”

The Canadian Record
Did anyone get the Canadian Record that came out today?
1. AG investigators in Tom Brown case shed “new light” on findings? Page 4-6
2. State Rep. King ( whose son was with Tom before he went missing) will hold a town hall on September 17 . Page 9
3. Sheriff Lewis deputy (Ortega’s)was honored? Page 8
4. And the main front page photo was of course football.

Such an interesting town.

Glad to see your response #inmyhumbleopinion, I am curious as well. I think you gave a reasonable opinion on what happened to Thomas quite a ways back, by all information provided. I am contemplating the reason why an individual would A) record and provide information from the meeting with AG and others suspending the investigation, and REALLY, who doesn’t receive their mail? I understand that mishaps happen, but I really do not understand. The investigation was suspended- WHO has information to follow up on? WHO, wants this drawn out? That is the ultimate question. I believe that the officers on duty know more. But apparently someone else besides them knows too- unless, like you mentioned, it’s a cruel joke. Or maybe it’s someone that HAS info they have been sitting on and wants to come forth now that AG has suspended the investigation- I still believe one of the officers has knowledge of Thomas Browns disappearance, but how or why this additional information has come up is a conundrum. Unless of course it was overlooked. JMO and all that

I can’t upload the article here but if you buy today’s Canadian paper online ($2) it discusses the transcript. Klein made another statement about it today on FB as well.

jellybean96- What is your opinion of the article? I don’t wish to buy or contribute financially to that news paper after reading Klein’s statement. Did the AG give them exclusive information instead of making a public statement?

I can't help but think this is a cruel hoax by trolls who have nothing better to do. If the letter was sincere, why not at least leave a phone #? If this person (s) did send photos, surely Klein and Co. would have figured out who sent them.

I have to say (and please don't be mad at me), that I'd like to read the transcript of the meeting.

I haven’t seen the “new evidence” yet in the Canadian Record. If anyone has more info I would personally like to know! Everyone in that room should take a lie detector test- shame on whoever recorded that meeting.

OK, Im finally home. I will give a rundown of the article. FWIW, I bought the article *before* I knew Klein released his statement today. I actually went and searched for the article after I saw someone post here wondering what it said. Curious Cat and all that...

I am not really sure how much I can & should say about what the article *really says* (because Klein asking people not to believe it) so I will skirt around the exact details and give general info.

There is a list of who was in attendance, and I will post that here: Toms family, 2 reps for Moms4Tom, Klein & his associates, D.A, Franklin McDonoug (who had already been briefed on findings) and OAG Investigator Chris Smyth.

No one else is listed in the article as atttending (specifically, any more LE)

So the following is my interpretation of the article:

--Lewis was cleared of any wrong doing.
--Moms4Tom and Unfound helped push allegations against Lewis.

--I will share this quote:
While the evidence produced in the investigation “is sufficient to produce suspicion and conjecture,” he read, “there is not sufficient evidence of criminal activity. The investiga- tion has been complicated and compromised by public speculation and information.”

-LE recovered some deleted info from the that is somewhat questionable to me personally. (Not sure if I should expand on this or not?)
-Yes, Tom's remains were found, but not all of them & what they do have does not lead them to a cause of death.

Another quote:
The investigators confirmed that no suicide note was found, and that nothing else pointed to that as cause of death. “We also have nothing,” Smyth said, “to corroborate if somebody did something to him.”

--Forensics went through the Sheriffs Office and nothing was found/amiss.

Things that are discussed in the article that I am not sure about discussing since Klein said not to: what was found on the phone, the surveillance video, and the missing photo from Fronks Oil.

IMHO- this article is very slanted in favor of LE and quite frankly, is a slap in the face to Penny & Tom's family. I should also mention Pyne Gregory's name isn't anywhere in the entire article. This newspaper article, IMHO, has made it clear who they believe and what they believe happened.
