VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Officials in Van Zandt County are searching for a missing man with dementia.

Officials are looking for Thomas Richardson, who was recently reported missing from his residence in the 200 block of Private Road 7925, outside of Edgewood. According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office, Richardson is reported to have dementia and may be confused.

He was last seen wearing a blue and black plaid shirt and black pants. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 108 pounds. The sheriff's office advises that anyone who locates Richardson should not attempt to approach him as it might startle him. Instead, contact local law enforcement or to provide information on his whereabouts, contact the sheriff's office at 903-567-4133.

An official confirmed that Thomas Richardson was found and is alive Friday night. According to a source close to the family, he was found by a family member in a wooded area off of Hwy 19, but officials declined to confirm that.
