I believe Durst's attorney said that he has Asperger's. I don't know if he has been officially diagnosed, but I think it is a possibility. I've had several students with Asperger's and a few of them would speak of themselves in the 3rd person the way that Durst does.

And let the defense ball start rolling.... He is definitely not right but he has nothing that will keep him from prosecution. He found the stamina and wherewithall to help himself in Texas and get off for killing and dismembering someone.

It's the prosecution who wanted to move him. His defense was arguing that he was just fine.

Asperger's definitely isn't an excuse for murder. I think it may explain the way he talks about himself in the 3rd person, and the way he talks to himself. I'm not convinced he has "multiple personalities".

I think that he has many many signs that would lead me to believe he has a level of Asperger's. I completely agree that it means nothing about the charges. I saw Kathy's friend on CNN this morning talking about how he has always talked to himself and been odd.
I think that he had an interesting childhood but his brothers and sister had the same one. They are all fine. I think this is someone who will not be questioned or backed into a corner and when he is he kills.

He does not have multiple personalities.. He has the one dishpan affect.

IMO the New Orleans charges are very important. Proving a murder after 15 years is going to be pretty difficult.
The felon in possession of a firearm carries a 10 year term iirc. It could put him behind bars if he gets acquitted in LA

I have seen the defense atty from Texas doing his presser. I can see why he won his case in Galveston but I am not sure his Good Ol Boy Texan Cowboy attitude will work as well in Los Angeles. JMO
I don't think he is going to convince anyone that Durst didn't write BOTH those creepy letters. It is so obvious. And if that tape comes in of him talking in the bathroom it will be hard to overcome. JMO

He admitted to dismembering his neighbor for no reason. If anyone is gonna get away with murder, it's him. I wouldn't say he is "jinx'd", I'd say he is pretty f'ing lucky (and rich).

Those were all huge heroes/celebrities though. Durst is a creeper.

Even the friends of his first wife said they felt sorry for him for some reason. He plays the game well. *shiver*

True but he is not at all likable like OJ or MJ were. And that docudrama helps the State, imo, not the defense. I think he is toast.

BUT. He can't tell the truth. He doesn't even know what that is. I'd be surprised if that happened. Gosh, maybe he pushed her, too!

I agree that although he deserves to be punished he did have a sad childhood. In episode 2 he was telling how his father made him wave to his mother right before she jumped to her death. How horrific for a 7 year old. I think that event helped usher in his being emotionally twisted.

Here's why I think he may be dual personality:

In episode three he says: "Bob was not in Shipsbottom" He mostly refers to himself as I.
In episode 4 while on the witness stand he says that Janine Pirro was going to renew the investigation into Robert Durst.
Then at another time on the stand he says "It was explained to me that I would have to do the dismemberment." Who explained it to him?
His final monologue sounds like he's talking to someone else as well.
He also seems to have a conscience. Sending the letter to the police. I think he has an evil side and a good side. I think the evil side controls the nice side. That's just my look at it. What do you think?

I think so too. The handwriting is damning but any defense attorney can challenge it as well as his weird mumblings in the bathroom.
Do I think Durst did it? Yep
Do I think the State can prove he murdered her? I'm not so sure

Agree...especially since this will be in Los Angeles and he's somewhat notorious, even though not in a good way.

Exactly. And at his age, it just could seal his fate to die in prison. As much as I believe he is guilty of murdering Susan, the charges in Louisiana are much easier to prove.

Houston police are searching the Rice Village condo of real estate heir and now murder suspect Robert Durst.

Durst's attorney Chip Lewis did not say why police are at Durst's condo in the 2500 block of Robinhood, but we know officers arrived there around noon Tuesday. A marked Houston police car and three unmarked cars were in front of a 17-story building, where Durst has three condominiums. At least five plainclothes officers were working
