Sounds like someone that she would easily have been able to identify.

Appletree Hill Lane shooting: Woman killed inside garage | khou.com
Ok, if 50 shots is accurate, I think that gives enough time for neighbors to look out their windows to see SOMEthing. Hopefully. IMHO 50 shots is overkill and rage.
So far they have this:
Deputies are continuing to investigate and look for surveillance video, but said a primary investigation showed a dark-colored sedan leave the scene.

Also, the story above indicates the victim worked at a gentleman’s club in the Galleria area of Houston. Upon doing some research, hours of operation vary, closing anywhere between 2am and 6 am. There is some info regarding these establishments in the Houston area in this thread for still missing Shawtyria Waites, 20, who disappeared in late July.

<modsnip add - to avoid confusion, this below is about a different case>

2 more arrests made in shooting death of Dallas woman | wfaa.com

snipped
Police say the victim, Leslie Squair Baker, was shot and killed in the driveway of her Dallas home on May 25.

Neighbors in the 6100 block of Royalton reported hearing six gun shots, police said.

I remember this one - these driveway shootings are terrifying

Yes, driveway shootings are terrifying, because they often seem very random, as the one in Dallas was, linked in the above post. The Dallas one was last year, and in the middle of the day.
TX - Leslie Squair Baker, 59, murdered in driveway in broad daylight, Dallas, 25 May 2020 *ARRESTS*

This one today seems very deliberate and targeted, but that is just my sense of it at this point.
50 shots is a bit of an overkill IMO - and how do you even have a weapon that fires that many bullets? multiple shooters? An assault rifle? Leslie's was apparently random after a string of other crimes by the killers - this seems concise and targeted
IMO
ETA:
"The only information we have is a dark color vehicle pulled up, [someone] got out and shot approximately 50 rounds at her," said Major Susan Cotter with HCSO. "She pulled into the garage, she was able to exit the vehicle, and she was found deceased in the garage."

KHOU 11's Michelle Choi reported the victim's vehicle was riddled with bullets.

Perhaps someone followed her home - either after a road rage incident or a customer where where she worked made an overture towards her that she rebuffed. It seems like it doesn't take much these days to send people over the edge.

wow.
Your typical AR-15 comes with a 30-round magazine. However, you can purchase aftermarket 40-round, 60-round and 100-round magazines. So, it could easily have been a single perp.

Holy Cow! 50 times? Whoever it was, this was extremely personal to be that unhinged.

wow.

Just noting that this says a person got out of their car to shoot her. Very bold! I was initially imagining a drive by with the shooter staying in the vehicle. Hoping for doorbell cameras that may have recorded the shooter as well as the vehicle.

Anyone with a subscription to Houston Chronicle. I think they have identified her.

Wow! We can only hope she passed quickly and painlessly with that many wounds.

Interesting that when you google the name that the Houston Chronicle is reporting, that her address comes up differently. I wonder if she recently moved, and if that has any bearing on what happened.....

Timothy identified the victim as 31-year-old Valeesha Duncan. He called her his best friend.

“We have a child together, and I’m the ex, so that goes to show you if I can say these positive things and for us to still be friends ,that shows you a lot about her character,” Timothy said.

Duncan and Timothy’s 11-year-old son was not home at the time of the shooting.

She had an 11 year old son. Ugh. That is so sad. Poor kid.

So it turns out that she was shot AT 50 times, not actually shot 50 times.

or a customer where where she worked made an overture towards her that she rebuffed.

Very possible.

As a side note, an experienced bar tendress once told me that dancers at strip joints having side jobs as higher end prostitutes was, well, not uncommon.

It might be good to ask the other employees at the club if the victim was known to work uhmm.... "after hours".

Likewise, though mainstream vending sites such as Craigs List took down their "Adult Encounters" type sections by federal request, it might also be a good idea to check any non mainstream web pages offering thinly disguised prostitution encounters to see if the victim maintained an account, advertised etc.

Sounds like someone that she would easily have been able to identify.

I agree that she would probably be able to identify him (statistically likely to be a "he"). But, it might not be easy given where she worked.

Needless to say, strip joints attract a steady stream of lonely hearts with big hopes, angry / domineering men who cant get dates, hustlers of all sorts, and the criminally creepy.

Thus, there maybe a good number of potential problem people that she has had contact with. Some may of faded out in her memory.
