What do they mean by, “consumer”?

I'm guessing they mean she had been using/needing mental health treatment or medication.

"she is a mental health consumer" sounds like the darkest timeline :(

Strange phrase.
Consumer is the preferred word over client in many mental health and addiction treatment settings. I have no idea why to be honest, because I feel like client is a better term, but it’s not meant to be derogative or to say they’re consuming things like drugs. It’s just the nomenclature used in many of these settings.

I wonder what the outcome was for her namus to be removed?
