How do they know her TV was turned on after she left? Odd.

You are right, @Caring1. The details are way different between the two sources. Both Charley and Doe state Vannita's vehicle has never been located, but the newspaper clipping states her car mysteriously appeared in a hotel parking lot, but the police didn't secure it properly. There was blood inside which wasn't tested for 2 months later, which led a detective to determine Vannita was likely killed inside her vehicle.

In the clipping it states her family believes her history of severe mental illness, alcohol abuse, and prostitution led to the sheriff's department not try hard to find her.

Vannita is mentioned as preceding her father in death in his obituary.

Sorry for the Necro, I had a dealing with this case, I'll clear things up, her car was recovered and searched..... 48 days after she went missing. The detective who actually dug into it was the fourth one assigned to the case and expressed his frustrations to the StarTelegram. The primary suspect died in 2014. I can't give further information out without doxxing myself.

Edit* IDK who this is but they've got a pretty solid handle on the facts.
